Don't get me wrong she can sing but people are saying they were "sobbing" at the power of new song. I don't get the hype about her

Who do you rate?

RealHuman · 23/10/2015 18:40

I don't get it either. Live, she's off-key. I don't enjoy the style of her voice, personally.

Skullyton · 23/10/2015 18:41

if you dont really like her music you wouldn't get it.

I like her voice and i find music very emotive.. her song, the words, the music, its very emotional.

Sparklingbrook · 23/10/2015 18:42

I haven't heard it yet. It's like all things though, not everyone like the same.I didn't like her stalker song much.

Sobbing at a song seems a bit OTT. Will have a listen and see if I can squeeze a tear out.

I like Ellie Goulding though which I think is a bit controversial.

VimFuego101 · 23/10/2015 18:42

Her inability to say her 'L's pisses me off. 'Skyfaww' anyone?

Sparklingbrook · 23/10/2015 18:43

or 'crumbole' Vim. Grin

SacredHeart · 23/10/2015 18:45

I'm not a fan, it's very "generic emotion song" suitable for weddings, funerals, christenings, bar mitzvah and everything in between.

A bit like "you raise me up" by westlife.

It's not really my cup of tea. I prefer Bryan Adams!

PennyHasNoSurname · 23/10/2015 18:51

I enjoy listening to her music - self penned, usually a true/honest account of a time in her life, acompanied by a great melody, sung by a women who is talented, down to earth, and doesnt conform to the generic fame/egomaniacal lifestyle that seems to come as standard.

Love her or otherwise, Adele will become a legend of this generation and I enjoy that I am part of that as a current listener.

Sparklingbrook · 23/10/2015 18:52

I am not sure about a legend. Maybe I am too old to think that, I doubt I am her target audience.

LivingInMidnight · 23/10/2015 19:07

I tried to like her, but she's just a bit... bland.

I have listened to the song now. It's just Adele isn't it? Doing what Adele does.
I am afraid I remained dry eyed.

Another song for X Factor hopefuls to murder.

Maybe not a target audience usual. I do think I would have been all over her music if I was a teenager now. All the angst would be very appealing.

I don't get it either. Like a poor man's Amy Winehouse, but without the car crash lifestyle.

She has a good voice, but her music is such dirge. She's just musical beige. Someone Like You made me want to scratch my eyeballs out it was played so much.

Sparklingbrook · 23/10/2015 19:24

DH says it has been played non stop on the radio today. I assume it will be straight in at number one.

shggg245 · 23/10/2015 19:26

I tried to escape her this morning so switched from radio 1 (nick grimshaw creaming over her) to radio 2 - Chris Evans (also creaming 5 mins later)

In desperation went to radio 4 - Today Programme - you can guess the topic? I opted for silence in the end.

She's got a shit hot agent that's for sure!

TinklyLittleLaugh · 23/10/2015 19:28

Another cheery little song for stalkers from Adele. I quite like her voice though, perhaps she should stick to covering Bob Dylan.

GrouchyKiwi · 23/10/2015 19:30

I find her bland as well.

GrouchyKiwi · 23/10/2015 19:31

Her music is bland, that is. I know nothing about her as a person.

GlitteryRollerGirl · 23/10/2015 19:33

And why has she got this obsession with turning up on ex boyfriends doorsteps unnounced? Can you imagine if a man wrote that?

She's a silly stalker who just needs to get over it.

regenerationfez · 23/10/2015 19:34

I agree. I heard her new song on the radio and it sounded like all her other songs. Bland.
