(pre-thread warning: I'm a bit of a grumpy arsehole most of the time)

So, about two hours ago, myself, DH and DD (6 months) went to tescos. Headed for the parent and child spaces, but they were all full. I saw a couple, probably in their mid-30's loading their shopping into their car - not a child or car seat in sight. So DH pulled into a space just across the way from them. I made a big show of struggling to get DD out of her car seat in the normal sized space, and as we walked past I said "nice to see you struggling to get all your kids into your car in that massive space" Angry

The man didn't know what to say, and the woman just put her head down and pretended not to have heard me.
Was I BU? Or does everyone else get The Rage when childless people park in parent and child spaces?!

Watch thank you! I'm being made to feel like the super villain here with an apparent vendetta against the disabled. Which isn't the case!

Natkingcole9 · 18/10/2015 21:37

A teenager is any ages ending in teen??Hmm

TaliZorah · 18/10/2015 21:39

Nat yes, you're right. I was referring to a comment made about me using the space when I was 14. But yes a 19 year old is a teenager

Sparklingbrook · 18/10/2015 21:42

Watch just hide the whole AIBU topic is you don't want to be flabbergasted on a regular basis. Grin

The main ranters seem to be the OP and her cheerleaders.

RoseWithoutAThorn · 18/10/2015 22:01

watch AIBU isn't the place for you if your mental health and wellbeing are suffering. A break would definitely be best if forums affect you in that way.

TaliZorah · 18/10/2015 22:04

watch your post is amazing. As someone who also has hidden disabilities, Im amazed at how many people have an issue with this. Usually no one gives a shit about invisible disabilities sadly.

I use them still - three kids close together, youngest is 8, oldest ASD and other issues.
I genuinely do not give a monkey's if anyone thinks I shouldn't due to them being over five.
However, I do silently tut at the sleeping baby plus dad sitting in the car in these spaces - why not park somewhere else if you're not getting the kid/s out?

Sparklingbrook · 18/10/2015 22:10

How can anyone love AIBU? It's the stupidest most ridiculous topic ever. Someone said it should be renamed 'Petty Gripes'. They were not wrong.

I think it's priceless the fact that the pile-on crowd are all hale-n-hearty MN-ers, but those who happen to differ in opinion are called "OP's cheerleaders".

Like the person upthread who showed her support of the OP by calling someone a cunt? More than once.

So priceless.

I just find it so mad that mumsnet 2015 and were STILL doing parent and child threads? Is it a halloween spoof?

I just don't get it. Like i know they exist but not as a god given right.

Op I know how difficult it can be going shopping with a 6 month old. I have a 6 month old, a 2 year old and a spinal cord injury and 9/10 days I manage just fine in a normal space.

Alisvolatpropiis · 18/10/2015 22:31

I have a young baby, generally speaking I park in the emptiest part of the car park, force of habit.

I do think people who park in P&C spaces without children are tossers.

But I can't bring myself to care about that in the same way people without blue badges parking in blue badge spaces makes me care.

spanisharmada · 18/10/2015 22:54

Yes that's right, I suggested the OP should have shouted cunt in their faces, hit them round the head and legged it!
Well actually I didn't I just used the word cunt rather than say, entitled, twatish, whatever, in my post and people decided I was therefore a shit parent and very angry.
Give up watch

Sparklingbrook · 18/10/2015 22:54

TBH Watch I think lots of posters love AIBU. Some never venture out of the topic.

squoosh · 18/10/2015 22:57

I think you did seem angry when you then called someone on the thread a cunt.

Gabilan · 18/10/2015 23:02

This thread's weird Confused

DickDewy · 18/10/2015 23:08

I've said it before - but why on earth do shops not put these spaces at the furthest point from the shop?

Parents needing the wider spaces would still be accommodated - others would not be as tempted to use them.

But as it is, p&c spaces are just annoying.
