That the "popular" posters on here are often rude.

I won't mention names but some of them seem to be popular for....not a lot really. Certain people come to mind who have a reputation for being straight talking and funny but most of the time I don't see it. I find them rather disagreeable tbh. Is it just me?

MN (well, mostly AIBU) is full of rude people. I don't notice any regulators being any ruder than newer posters.

ouryve · 08/10/2015 13:38

I feel like starting a counter AIBU...? to wonder what it is with posters I've never heard of making PA digs about "popular" posters, but not naming names, of course, oh no.

saucony · 08/10/2015 13:38

Regulars, not regulators!

dancer but why would it bother you if they are popular?
I never said it bothered me if anyone was popular, just that I'm puzzled as to why in some cases.

Very useful Buffy - I think MNHQ will snaffle that for marketing demographic purposes.

I think I'm in the white bit - like the vacuum of space.

LatinForTelly · 08/10/2015 13:43

Niiice, Buffy.

But there's loads of variables aren't there, including helpful, knowledgeable.

I think we're going to need a balanced scorecard.

there are a few sheep on here and some who just are arsy

often a thread can totally change direction by one horrible post then many will pile in

so no yanbu

but we have to pretend it does not happen or that the hilarious repeated jokes are anything but or that there are not some on here who are crawly bumlickers

its a public forum so you will get all sorts vast majority are very nice Grin

Whoknewitcouldbeso · 08/10/2015 13:45

I don't recognise most posters anymore since the hacking and all the name changes, mine included.

Most people on this site are bloody rude. I just try and take it with a pinch of salt. If you go onto the Conception, Pregnancy, Miscarriage or Bereavement boards people are absolutely amazing. If you hang out in AIBU you are going to get some robust replies.

There are plenty of other parenting websites online if Mumsnet is too abrupt for you.

Goodforsolong · 08/10/2015 13:45

Oh dear,
OP what exactly were you hoping to archive by this thread?
Were you hoping for posters to agree with you, then you could all band together in some kind of anarchy against the popular posters?

It a massive forum, there will always be posters you think are twats or you really quite like, sometimes the ones you thought were twats can later make you think otherwise and vice verser. and that only because they don't NC you notice them more. NC like myself can be frustrating because you just start to build up a repor with them have a laugh as you end up on the same threads, then poof they are gone.
Same as twat ones, you just get the measure of them, then they disappear.

Unfortunately none NC come in for more flack (threads like these) aswell as sometimes perceived popularity.

There are no circles. Everything is text.

That is just so deep.

TheImprobableGirl · 08/10/2015 13:48

I can see circles buffy....

who was it that was forced to leave a few years ago a prolific poster

apparently there was going to be a mass closing of accounts

a few days later it was almost forgotten about and business as usual

Hullygully · 08/10/2015 13:49

I think you need to combine all the balloons in a new and pleasing fashion

TheImprobableGirl · 08/10/2015 13:50

Gosh the intersection doesn't have much chance.
A crawley bum licker arsey sheep?!

TheImprobableGirl · 08/10/2015 13:51

Mmm I agree Hully maybe 8/9?
