That the "popular" posters on here are often rude.

I won't mention names but some of them seem to be popular for....not a lot really. Certain people come to mind who have a reputation for being straight talking and funny but most of the time I don't see it. I find them rather disagreeable tbh. Is it just me?

Right, full English tomorrow then Grin

FattyNinjaOwl · 08/10/2015 16:16

Sounds good to me

HoneyDragon · 08/10/2015 16:16

One posters reasonable comment is another's passive aggressive bitch missive. Just depend which way you're tethered.

cleaty · 08/10/2015 16:23

I don't want to be in any gang that would want me.

dancerchancer · 08/10/2015 16:27

I've seen loads of similar posts tbh. The spirit of Mumsnet is surely being able to voice your opinion. I've made a general comment, not personal. Nothing to get in a lather about.

As long as you feel better dancer.

You do feel better for voicing your observation, don't you?

00100001 · 08/10/2015 16:32

how is someone popular on MN??? Confused

FattyNinjaOwl · 08/10/2015 16:34

binary you wouldn't understand Grin

bodenbiscuit · 08/10/2015 16:35

YANBU but that's how it has always been on MN. I like that people on here are a bit more straight taking because on other forums people often say what you want to here.

LoveArtDeco · 08/10/2015 16:35

this thread has just confirmed the op. Loads of regulars MaryZ HullyGully SparklingBrook and a few others have taken over the thread and are now clapping each other on the back about how 'clever' and 'funny' they are.

I've been here for 8 years and it's always been the same, albeit with different posters every so often. Whatever it's just an Internet forum but please don't be disingenuous and claim it doesn't happen .

Hullygully · 08/10/2015 16:37

loveatdeco - because that's the way you see it, doesn't mean that that's the way it is.

Iusedtobeapenguin · 08/10/2015 16:39

Yoo Hoo - I see it too Grin

I don't really care though - if a thread gets on my tits I just step away

DawnMumsnet · 08/10/2015 16:39

@TantrumsAndBalloons

There are no popular posters.

There is no royalty.

We are all just people posting on a forum. Some people get along with others because they share the same sense of humour or views or whatever.

That's it.

Would be good to get this laminated. Smile

ghostyslovesheep · 08/10/2015 16:39

Sex Pool wahahahahaha I love that term - sadly though I am going through a dry spell

It's a totally chavtastic inflatable cheap one - why change my usual style

I only got it in the hope it would make the popular kids like me

ExConstance · 08/10/2015 16:40

Do people change their identity and personality when they change name?
I haven't noticed any posting with the trademark suggestion of lots of lube for a couple of years now.

MascaraAndConverse · 08/10/2015 16:41

Who's popular on here? Confused
I have no idea.

TantrumsAndBalloons · 08/10/2015 16:41

love the op was about popular posters being rude wasn't it?

I must have missed where the posters you mentioned were rude

ExConstance · 08/10/2015 16:42

They are very much self appointed royalty on the whole..... but they still have the on line persona of people who love the sound of their own voices and think they are rather wonderful.

bodenbiscuit · 08/10/2015 16:44

Hear not here

SideOrderofChips · 08/10/2015 16:44

I live on the Christmas board. I recognise names on there. It feels weird when they post elsewhere.

Anastasie · 08/10/2015 16:44

344 posts IN ONE DAY??? How did I miss this?

DonkeyOaty · 08/10/2015 16:46

I think being rude is much worse than being prolific shurely?

Shutthatdoor · 08/10/2015 16:46

Apart from I missed a thread about the Queen Mother's teeth.

Me too why was there a thread about teeth

Nabootique · 08/10/2015 16:49

Side has a point. I mostly live on S&B and recognise lots of people from there who I don't see elsewhere, and I think I'm probably more "known" over there.

ExitPursuedByABear · 08/10/2015 16:50

Were they false?

I was only thinking last night that we haven't a jolly old thread derailing for quite a while.

And now this.
