Snide comment from someone else. Wtf should i wear for a professional school drop off? I do live in my PJs and love it while I'm not working. Often have two pairs a day so its not dirty. Aibu to do this?

Do people really go shopping in PJs?

StealthPolarBear · 24/09/2015 19:36

Maybe the op drives the school bus!
Assuming you put on clean ones then pyjamas are just a fashion choice and no more inappropriate than jeans or those ridiculous puffy flowery trousers women seem to wear these days - the ones that loom like pyjama bottoms

AlisonWunderland · 24/09/2015 19:37

What's wrong with you people?
Get yerselves a naice school run dress!
Grin

Can someone spell it out to me why it's lazy to go out in pyjamas that you didn't sleep in the night before?

I would call you a lazy cow.

sleepyelectricsheep · 24/09/2015 19:38

YANBU and I find it quite funny how uptight people are about this.

Honestly, it really doesn't matter. But some people really really think it does.

CatMilkMan · 24/09/2015 19:39

Unprofessional is the wrong word.
I don't know why I hate the thought of someone doing things outside the house in pyjamas, but I fucking hate it.
None of my business.

But why broken?
I've never been seen out in pyjamas (other than at the bins by neighbours). But I've also never been seen in ugg boots, pedal pushers, hot pants, maxi dresses or any other random bits of cloth I deem unflattering. When is a t shirt not a t shirt? When it's a pyjama top.

But then I do live in the north east so it's been normalised to me.
People can wear what they want imo. I like some of it, like some of it less

Emillee1 · 24/09/2015 19:43

I LOVE to wear my pjs at home when I'm on my day off but I would never ever do the school run in them, it just screams chav!

AlisonWunderland · 24/09/2015 19:44

I love the word slattern

luckiestgirlintheworld · 24/09/2015 19:45

Oh god why do I come on these threads?! Who cares what other people wear? How in the world is it lazy? Why would you wear jeans if you could be comfy and wear pj's? She's not even getting out of the car and you still think it's inappropriate.

StealthPolarBear · 24/09/2015 19:46

I do wonder how it happened. Did sh scream unprofessional through the open car window as op left her for dust?

Libitina · 24/09/2015 19:49

I also change it my pj's the minute I get home, but going out and about in pj's is chavvy.

I'm not sure it's 'unprofessional' but it is lazy.

I live in PJ'S when not at work because I don't see the point in getting dressed at home on my own.

I pull on a pair of joggers and a hoody if I pop to the shops. It takes 30 seconds. I don't believe there is anyone that can't do that so if you're in a shop in your PJ'S or on the school run - you are either very lazy or making some kind of statement about expecting other people to not judge but loving it when they do.

AlisonWunderland · 24/09/2015 19:53

Yes Mrs deVere but make sure you include what you wear during your school run

ShadowSlipping · 24/09/2015 19:56

It looks lazy to me because I would assume that the pyjamas are the same ones that were slept in the night before.

I find it difficult to imagine someone getting up, showering - and then putting on a pair of fresh pyjamas to do the school run in. I mean, if you're going to bother changing anyway, why not change into day clothes?

BrandNewAndImproved · 24/09/2015 19:56

I've dropped the dc off in the morning in my pyjamas. I don't get out the car and the dc are old enough to walk through the gate themselves. Its a omg it's 8oclock and we're all still asleep mad rush sort of morning for me to ever do that.

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 24/09/2015 19:56

Well no ynbu, if you want to walk around looking do I dare say dowdy, that's up to you, but why do you need to look professional on the school run. Confused

Aqualady · 24/09/2015 19:59

What you were in your own car is your on business imo

BUT it's the girls round my way that wear full on pj and a zebra print fluffy robe and fake uggs. I kid you not
