2 inches or not 2 inches, that is the question...

In fairness, the dress never fit in the first place. It was an (extremely expensive) carrot to motivate me to loose weight. Which I did, 29 lbs to be exact. Which is all very woo-hoo until I realise that the dress belt won't tie. Big event in two weeks so running out of time.

AIBU to have hope that 2 inches off a waist in two weeks (or less) is possible? I don't care how temporary, painful or exhausting. (And, before anyone says, yes I maybe a tad shallow Grin)

Cut out all carbs and sugar, also caffeine. Drink plenty of water! It could work :-/ good luck!

TheMotherOfHellbeasts · 08/09/2015 21:31

Epsom salt baths, as hot as you can stand, every day for at least twenty minutes, ideally half and hour. It used to work for me. On, and shed loads of green tea - five cups or more per day.

HolgerDanske · 08/09/2015 21:34

Yes, cut out all carbs except for vegetables, including 'natural' sugars, honey, potatoes, rice etc

Will make a huge difference to your stomach.

RockerMummy184 · 08/09/2015 21:37

Have you tried the dreaded Bridget Jones Pants? I love mine!

paulapompom · 08/09/2015 22:14

Still keep up the diet but book one of those body wraps just before that somehow help you (temporarily) lose inches. They're great for special occasions.

SaucyJack · 08/09/2015 22:51

Absolutely do not take a few laxatives a day between now and the big day. That won't work at all. Oh no.

corsetwattery · 08/09/2015 22:57

Have spent the evening reading up on low-carb, waistshapers and now for the laxatives ... Grin

Am fascinated by those waistshapers, they look like impressive medieval torture devices

lateral thinking here - can you put a catch on the belt, so it clasps, rather than ties, if the dress itself goes on ok?

MaidOfStars · 09/09/2015 09:12

No carbs, body wrap.

KanyeWestPresidentForLife · 09/09/2015 09:25

Cabbage soup diet, different belt.

Welshmaenad · 09/09/2015 09:27

Corset.

Fizzielove · 09/09/2015 09:35

I second the corset! Look up What Katie did website they have a HUGE range and I done think 2inches is much to need pulled in!

Branleuse · 09/09/2015 09:43

saucyjack, i cannot actually believe that you just said that :(

Branleuse · 09/09/2015 09:46

For the next two weeks eat vegetables and protein only.

Like those steamer bags of vegetables with some chicken, for every meal.

Cut out dairy, bread and pasta. Youll get all your nutrition without anything that bloats

Also exercise. Gym or home exercise videos, 4 or 5 times a week

TheCatsFlaps · 09/09/2015 10:08

Daily crunches, at least forty reps.

LoisPuddingLane · 09/09/2015 10:13

I thought that said Dairy crunches. yum.

ChristmasZombie · 09/09/2015 10:44

Corset! Even a fairly cheap one, with plastic boning, will pull two inches in (and give you spectacular boobs!)

HolgerDanske · 09/09/2015 10:50

No need for laxatives. Honestly, low carbing is so easy to do and will do the same job in a way that's actually good for you. Absolutely no wheat products (At all! Of any kind!), no rice, potatoes and/or potato products. No sugar or natural sweets (including fruits).

Protein and lots of veg, cheese and olives and other similar nibbles for snacks. Pork scratchings if you need something crunchy and crisp-like.

Absolutely no beer, preferably no fizzy drinks as they will cause bloating.

Wine only in small amounts if you're sure it won't sabotage your efforts to stay off carbs, with cheese or with a meal.

Lots and lots of water, plenty of salt, lots and lots of healthy fats - oil dressings on all salads, skin on all your chicken. Fry your foods.

You will see a marked difference in your stomach about three days after you switch your eating. Two weeks is plenty of time to really notice it.

Look up BIWI's spreadsheet on the low carbing boot camp threads for lots of info.

BumpTheElephant · 09/09/2015 11:03

Different belt or extra holes?

trufflesnout · 09/09/2015 11:07

I can't believe SaucyJack bringing up laxatives is taking it too far but the recommendations to cut out ALL sugars (this is not possible) and bathing in boiling hot baths isn't Hmm

laureywilliams · 09/09/2015 11:12

Well what sort of percentage of your waist is 2 inches?? I mean if you already have a 26 inch waist it may not be possible in two weeks.

However if you follow the advice above and survive I think its perfectly possible.

If its not already been said - NO BOOZE - for two weeks. As well as making you fat it saps your willpower.

Cracking up at saucyjack.

MaidOfStars · 09/09/2015 11:13

Just remembered, I used to date a bodybuilder and he would eat baby apple pur??e for the two days before a competition. Something to do with dehydration/salt balance/shrink wrapping your skin.

This was before I was a proper scientist and I will confess to not having investigated the alleged phenomenon in any rigorous fashion. Grin

MaidOfStars · 09/09/2015 11:14

Weird wird with ?? = pur??e.
