URGENT: New data leak

KitKat1985 · 19/08/2015 21:08

New data has just been leaked on the DadSec page - all the Mumsnet partner companies.

This is a huge breach and must have come from within your server as this wouldn't have just been phished.

OP posts:
BertrandRussell · 19/08/2015 22:51

Yes, I have.

SacredHeart · 19/08/2015 22:51

Yeah, MN informed on the hack thread 3. They've added additional rigor to the password selection.

bumbleymummy · 19/08/2015 22:52

Thanks Bert. This is all getting bit much. I'm glad I tightened my security after the last hacking incident!

SurlyCue · 19/08/2015 22:53

How do i clear my cookies on a iphone? Confused

SurlyCue · 19/08/2015 22:55

I changed my password 20 minutes ago (was forced to reset by HQ) but it wasnt any different than previous resets. I was expecting it to say "have at least 1 number and a mix of capitals" etc but it didnt. Was it supposed to? Or was the extra security on their end? The encryption part?

bloodyteenagers · 19/08/2015 22:56

Into setting - scroll down to safari - clear history and website data.

You will get logged out of here amongst others - although not apps.

Check your security settings whilst there

LazyLohan · 19/08/2015 23:03

Is anybody starting to wonder if this is an inside job? A disgruntled ex-employee?

SacredHeart · 19/08/2015 23:08

That is what the hacker has claimed all along and it is as plausible as any other theory.

SurlyCue · 19/08/2015 23:08

Thanks teenagers

bloodyteenagers · 19/08/2015 23:13

Or it's a vengeful ex of a member who is blaiming the site for her dumping his arse. Instead of actually looking at the reasons of why she dumped his arse....( I am using gender for ease and I have read more about nasty controlling males than females).

LazyLohan · 19/08/2015 23:31

The hacker claims it's an inside job? I suspect it might be purely because several people have said the dumps have old usernames/passwords so they seem to have been harvested a while ago.

Plus I've noticed that a lot of posters whose info has leaked are a certain type who frequent a certain board and I suspect the hacker knows that.

bumbleymummy · 19/08/2015 23:33

How are people actually seeing these dumps? Where are they?

surpriseitsme · 19/08/2015 23:37

It's very bizarre he has just published a phone number...says to ring if any questions...

howtorebuild · 19/08/2015 23:37

Twitter dad_sec

surpriseitsme · 19/08/2015 23:40

The one I'm reading has no _ in...he's claiming to have jacked the account?

bumbleymummy · 19/08/2015 23:41

People are actually clicking on the links? Confused

BertieBotts · 19/08/2015 23:57

FYI everyone: You can use a site like this: www.donotlink.com/dnl/faq

to link to something without boosting the site's ranking or allowing it to "see" the view.

That link is safe. If you don't want to click a link you can also google "do not link" yourself.

MagpieCursedTea · 20/08/2015 00:02

That's a Cambridge area code on that phone number. Not that, that means anything. I just noticed it Grin

surpriseitsme · 20/08/2015 00:09

I noticed that too! I'm not in Cambridge so it's not mine!

DustBunnyFarmer · 20/08/2015 00:09

That's a Cambridge area code on that phone number

Stephen Hawking making mischief during the long University holidays?

bumbleymummy · 20/08/2015 00:12

Is it maybe a Skype number? Iirc you can have a number starting with an area code even if you don't live in that area.

howtorebuild · 20/08/2015 00:14

Why reference GCHQ?

LikeABadSethRogenMovie · 20/08/2015 00:18

Have they hacked someone else's Twitter account? I'm a bit confused!

surpriseitsme · 20/08/2015 00:20

It apears to be the account of someone who works for civil service world magazine Confused

howtorebuild · 20/08/2015 00:23

Can You link?
