KitKat1985 · 19/08/2015 21:08

New data has just been leaked on the DadSec page - all the Mumsnet partner companies.

This is a huge breach and must have come from within your server as this wouldn't have just been phished.

thank you magpie he's not been round for a while, over a year and a half but because I have a 1year old with my new partner the police wanted to keep the marker.

Thanks for explaining, sorry that you're going through it Sad

victims of DV sometimes have a marker placed against their address so that the police will respond to any call from the hosehould with a fast response vehicle, in case the attacker has gained acsess to the premesis or other more sinister senarious I dare not think about.

each force calls it something else, my local police force call it a blue light response marker

Sorry if it's a silly question Ginger, but what's a blue light response address?

Ours definitely doesn't, it just looks like 123 Fake Street, Fakertown

GingerCuddleMonsterThe2nd · 20/08/2015 17:53

yeah not all have garrison or barracks in the postal address just looks like a normal resedential address.

Report
SurlyCue · 20/08/2015 17:45

Oh really, so nothing to indicate it is military? I didnt realise that.

Report
SuffolkNWhat · 20/08/2015 17:42

Not necessarily Surley around here the base addresses look just like normal addresses.

Report
SurlyCue · 20/08/2015 17:36

Well if he knows where to send the swat team that means he has addresses and will know if one is on a military base and so would avoid.

Sorry, I know we're supposed to ignore, but when you start to think about the person tapping away at that keyboard, doing stuff like this, the mind starts to go strange places.

Bet he's watching his page views go up, having a posh wank and glorying in showing those bitches who the boss is.

Do we think Jeff has a tiny todger? Or are his issues mother related? His own mother btw, apparently Jeff doesn't have kids Hmm so no baby momma screwing him over.

It is getting a bit silly tbh

Has this been definitely stated as the only vector

No it hasn't. But targeted malware (i.e. something specifically designed to attack Mumsnet users) is extremely unlikely. The only other option would be breaching Mumsnet security and gaining direct access to their servers. If he had achieved that I would expect him to have many more passwords than he appears to have.

Could not agree more. All this needless drama gives the hoped-for response. Just ignore and it will pick on pastures new.

I didn't realize you have to be young to be a twat Hmm

I mean an e-mail address or password. not overly concerned about, it's this swatting thing.

For instance some women like myself life in a marked house by the police, swatting to one of these "blue light response addresses" will surely backfire, or what if they target a MN who lives in military quarters that's also not going to go down well I would imagine. Hmm

For clarity, the attacker did not use a keystroke logger. He redirected the login page to a website he controls.

Has this been definitely stated as the only vector ? Or just supposition ?

my browser saves my passwords so there were no keystrokes to log

For clarity, the attacker did not use a keystroke logger. He redirected the login page to a website he controls. The resulting login page looked exactly like the Mumsnet login page. When you clicked the login button your browser sent your username and password to his website which logged them, then used them to log you in to Mumsnet. The fact that the password was one your browser remembered rather than one you typed made absolutely no difference to the process. He still ended up with your login details.

Do they know the extent of the information he managed to get?

The soundtrack to the new website is almost as charming as the last one: a drum n bass backing with "rape" said repeatedly over and over. Nice Hmm (He does know that men get raped too, right?)

It is a shame that we are even talking about it. I know I don't want to give any oxygen and attention which he so clearly craves. Inadequate little nerd. If they/he have this much knowledge to bring down a website and publish some emails - well why not use that knowledge for some good instead of being an utter twat about it.

And if this is about a father not seeing his child, well what a fine example of a man that a child can look up to eh Hmm
