I have a cheese slicer sciaticsucks I spent an hour in my parent's dusty attic to look for it in my stuff that is stored there on a visit home a few years ago because it is so useful, wouldn't want to be without one.

I also have quail egg scissors which must be the most middle class kitchen gadget ever. I my defense, we have our own quails and during laying season I make everything with quail eggs which are a bugger to break without getting shell everywhere. I couldn't be without my quail egg scissors.

Boiled egg cooker.
Slow cooker in two sizes.
Halogen oven.

SteveBrucesNose · 20/08/2015 07:41

Proper sharp knives - my knife block was more than my kitchenaid but worth its weight in gold as everything is quicker, easier and better shaped

The pet gates to keep the dogs out - otherwise they get under my feet and/or beg and get fed for everything

My guitar shaped spatula from Lakeland - it's rubber and slightly flexible at the end so great for scraping around my pans without damaging them

Oh and if I'm allowed a 4th - decent pan set that can go in the oven after being on the hob.

note that the aforementioned kitchenaid doesn't make the list, despite being very pretty and flashy and used a few times per week

Nespresso
KitchenAid
Microwave

ApollO88 · 04/09/2015 21:07

i'll do an opposite here. 3 things i wish i had in my kitchen:
scissors: so many bloody pairs of scissors in the house, yet none are in the kitchen when i need them
dishwasher: not having a dishwasher in current kitchen physically hurts after having one in a previous house.
space: galley kitchen added to a tiny 2up2down house. not enough room to swing a mouse

redshoeblueshoe · 04/09/2015 21:32

Tefal Saucier - it must be over 20 years old, and its brilliant for making sauces
pestle and mortar
grater

Tell me more about the Jeremy Paxman whisk Grin
