Mine are:

Potato ricer - makes fab lump free mash so creamy you may not need to add milk

Hand held blender diver chopper thing with enclosed bowl

Those red plastic lidded Pyrex dishes on offer from tesco's a while back with tokens .

Over to you!

Actually I would remove slow cooker from top 3 and replace with silicone egg poaching cup things.

SquirrelledAway · 19/08/2015 09:46

Bread maker
Coffee grinder and espresso maker (OK, that's two really)
Food processor

I have one good serrated knife which works for everything (although I went to one of those Pampered Chef lets-sell-you-lots-of-stuff-you-don't-need-at-rip-off-prices parties and they were horrified that I use a serrated knife to cut tomatoes).

I also have a set of those Joseph chopping boards and hate them because they get scored so easily - so I use my trusty wooden board and have the fancy ones just sat there taking up space looking decorative.

GoooRooo · 19/08/2015 09:53

Small table top halogen oven...changed my life as you need no big oven to do a fishcake!

Electric kettle.

Slow cooker
Food processor/blender
Rice cooker

I have a holiday home as well so I thought about what kitchen things I had in BOTH places because they are clearly what I can't live without.

I often book a cottage (about 3 times a year) and my MUST haves in my crate that I take with me are:

Set of sharp knives
Large serving spoons
2 x tongs
Kitchen scissors
Can opener
cork screw Grin

So they are clearly what I really, really can't do without!

kesstrel · 19/08/2015 13:20

Kitchen scissors - much quicker/less messy than knife/chopping board combination for many things

Dishwasher-proof wooden chopping board (cut paranoia about raw meat germs)

Spiral whisk that fits into corners of pan when making sauces, unlike ballloon whisk

Wonderful Silicon spatulas - can't believe I ignored them for years, thinking they were just brightly coloured plastic!!!

Buxtonstill · 19/08/2015 14:00

We actually refer to it as 'the foreskin' out of habit but have to remember not to in company. I was overheard telling DH on the phone 'I was in a rush this morning - please could you clean the foreskin for me'...

BuggerLumpsAnnoyed · 19/08/2015 15:02

Tefal Actifry

vienna1981 · 19/08/2015 18:51

I guess many of us couldn't easily deal with a lack of hot water, a good quality dish brush and good quality washing up liquid.

Rainbunny · 19/08/2015 20:25

Slow cooker

egg cooker (cooks soft or hard boils eggs and makes perfect poached eggs with no effort on my part every morning)

dishwasher (hate washing dishes and I went without one for years -this machine literally saves my sanity and the state of the kitchen)

DJThreeDog · 19/08/2015 20:29

A good knife.
This draining spatula thing - you drain pasta and stuff with it, means you don't have to use a colander and then balance it on the draining board/fit it in the dishwasher.
Stick blender.
Stove top espresso maker/cafetiere. I prefer the espresso maker, DH likes a cafetiere.

sciaticasucks · 19/08/2015 20:42

Cheese slicer

My mum is Swedish and brought one with her to England when she moved here in the sixties. I remember going round to my friends house in the seventies and her mum made me a cheese sandwich cutting great big chunks of cheese using a knife and I thought she was mad!

I cant believe people still dont use them. I've always used one and bought my friend one the other day from 'Tiger' (Danish shop ) for two quid and she keeps texting me to tell me it's changed her life!

Aeroflotgirl · 19/08/2015 20:45

Toaster, Kettle and Microwave Smile

pomegranatesandfilms · 19/08/2015 20:48

Panasonic breadmaker - excellent use a lot had 10 years.

Traditional sandwich press - used daily.

Binkybix · 19/08/2015 20:54

I brought it about 15-20 years ago from a fairly obscure shopping channel

Sharp knife
Waring Blender

Rainbunny · 20/08/2015 03:09

I'm cheating and adding a 4th item - my chopping boards. They're BPA free hard duty plastic and the brilliant thing about them is that you can shove them in the dishwasher if you choose, that's fine but you can also rinse them off in cold water, dry them and stick them in the microwave for a minute and 99% of all bacteria is killed. It's so useful and convenient when I'm cooking a big meal (think Christmas dinner) and I need to keep re-using chopping boards without wanting to wait for a full cycle in the dishwasher.
