Mine are:

Potato ricer - makes fab lump free mash so creamy you may not need to add milk

Hand held blender diver chopper thing with enclosed bowl

Those red plastic lidded Pyrex dishes on offer from tesco's a while back with tokens .

Over to you!

A pointed wooden spoon.
A wonder whisk
A potato river was a revelation.

Definition of gadget, (OED)
noun. A small mechanical or electronic device or tool, especially an ingenious or novel one: "a variety of kitchen gadgets."

Fridge doesn't cut it, it's not small, or novel, for starters, in the way that something like an electric knife sharpener or electronic pepper mill is.

If a fridge is a gadget then you might as well say that absolutely everything that goes in a kitchen is too. Sorry, just doesn't work.

StrattersDairyProductPervert · 19/08/2015 02:46

Fridges are 'white goods', or large appliances. Not gadgets.

Allalonenow · 19/08/2015 02:52

Good sharp knives

Tongs with silicon tips

A sprung metal bottle top for keeping bubbles in prosecco Wine Wine

(Boiled egg slicer ~ I used to love doing that job when I was little, I might get one for fun!)

ToastedOrFresh · 19/08/2015 03:09

Wok (it feeds us. The sound of food being served from it is the equivalent of a dinner gong being sounded. I've got through easily five woks in over 20 years of marriage.)

Sharp kitchen knife. (Which I sharpen with a steel, yes really.)

Silicone spatula - pure joy for getting the last of the sauce or gravy from the pan.

ToastedOrFresh · 19/08/2015 03:12

Metal tongs and metal tongs with plastic ends. I've recently purchased some child sized ones too, but I forget why.

Silicone baking sheets for putting on a baking tray when dry roasting veg.

Pyrex or any brand glass measuring jug. I cook porridge in the microwave in one.

BoyFromTheBigBadCity · 19/08/2015 05:41

Potato ricer

Electric/digital scales when I (very rarely) bake - I can see the numbers without my glasses which I don't need for the rest of cooking/baking, so I don't get them dirty etc

Stick blender

I love my pestle and mortar (sp?) But is that a gadget?

I really want a very small food processor, for atuff that would be easier/quicker but small quantities - so say, ginger and garlic etc, which gets lost in a full size one.

OwlAtEase · 19/08/2015 05:58

Thermomix! Does almost everything.

avocadotoast · 19/08/2015 06:12

Garlic press
Moka pot
Steamer

SleepRefugee · 19/08/2015 06:22

proper knives (mine are Global)
food processor
microplane grater
non-slip chopping boards
silicone spatula
kettle
kitchen scales

all in daily use and sorely missed while on holiday

VeryPunny · 19/08/2015 06:27

Pressure cooker
Rice cooker - timer means rice ready when we come in door.
Kenwood chef + attachments

Potato ricer redundant since discovering frozen mash. Am amazed at number of people with slow cookers - they just make institutional slop IMO.

BoyFromTheBigBadCity · 19/08/2015 06:40

Oh, my tin opener. I can't use the ones the go vertically or slanted on tins - I have tried and just can't, I need one that is horizontal on the top of the tin.

I once saw on telly a contraption that cuts chips - it's basically a grid of blades, with a a frame round it, then it has a plunger type thing. So you can change the blades for different size chips for the oven. I can't decide if I want one or of even assembling it would take longer than using a knife.

BeaufortBelle · 19/08/2015 06:54

Electric hand whisk
Liquidiser/blender
Solid four sided grater: one side for grating hard cheese, one side for finer grating, one for things like nutmeg and one that slices.

We would never need a special top to keep bubbles in Prosecco. We never leave any Prosecco Grin. Rather like we have never needed a recipe for left over smoked salmon.

TheWildOnes · 19/08/2015 07:12

Airfryer
Digital scales
Slow cooker

Titsalinabumsquash · 19/08/2015 07:25

Boy - I have a chip cutter, it's fab! It's easy to assemble and I leave it assembled after it comes out the dishwasher so I don't need to faff when I'm preparing chips. Grin

startwig1982 · 19/08/2015 07:26

Garlic press
Knife sharpener
Kitchen roll! Smile

SanityClause · 19/08/2015 07:35

Garlic twist
Tagine - excellent for all kinds of casseroles and stews, and even paella
Mini whisks

WhoisLucasHood · 19/08/2015 07:37

Tin opener
Scissors
Ceramic knife

Pengweng · 19/08/2015 07:59

Bread maker
Knife Sharpener
Microplane grater (LOVE)

I have many more i use on a daily basis but my kitchen would be much sadder and it would take me way more time to do stuff if i did not have these.

Top five would also include my food processor and my slow cooker.

PanGalaticGargleBlaster · 19/08/2015 08:03

Global knife
Coffee grinder
Bialetti stove top perculator

DiscoMoo · 19/08/2015 08:13

Garlic zoom
Electric egg boiler
One-cup kettle
Mini food processor / chopper

Bohemond · 19/08/2015 08:31

Can I change/add:
Electric salt and pepper grinders - can grind with one hand meaning you can mix at same time or do it when the other hand is covered in oil, dough etc

PurpleWithRed · 19/08/2015 08:34

Quooker hot water tap, my mum for veg prep, my DH for clearing up after cooking.
