I've tried, I really have. I cannot stand it or understand its enormous appeal. I wish it would fuck off back to BBC2 and that radio times would stop featuring it every bloody week.

Sad
Ifiwasabadger · 05/08/2015 21:03

YANBU. Less than zero interest here.

Creatureofthenight · 05/08/2015 21:04

Given the subject, I can't resist giving you a Biscuit !

MrsFrankRicard · 05/08/2015 21:05

YANBU, I love cooking, I love cookery programmes but I find the GBBO format really boring. And Mary Berry is a twat.

youareallbonkers · 05/08/2015 21:07

So don't watch it, there's plenty of other channels

laffymeal · 05/08/2015 21:07

I can't buy into cake drama and that Hollywood twat is an arrogant knobber. Appreciate the fresh Biscuit Grin

I'm sorry it's perfectly avoidable, I have never watched a single bloody episode of BGT and haven't watched XFactir in years both of those get far far more attention than GBBO yet I don't notice wether any magazine covers them, I couldn't tell you a single contestant.

You don't like it fine there's something like 100 other channels to watch I presume your capable of turning a page in the radio times without reading it.

laffymeal · 05/08/2015 21:09

The "so don't watch it" argument is null. You can't get away from it, hence my thread.

wankerchief · 05/08/2015 21:10

You can't Mary a twat Shock

It's like high fucking treason or some shit

Cake

youareallbonkers · 05/08/2015 21:11

Of course you can, watch another channel or read a book

Liberated71 · 05/08/2015 21:12

I hate the pseudo drama of it all. Too much chat and posturing and not enough baking. Can you tell I don't watch it!
Thank heavens for NetflixSmile

laffymeal · 05/08/2015 21:12

I didn't call Mary a twat, just Hollywood. Mary is ok really, Mel and Sue are totally irritating thoGrin

NewFlipFlops · 05/08/2015 21:13

I like it. You can definitely get away from it, unlike 'Strictly', which I don't get Grin

DadfromUncle · 05/08/2015 21:13

Yanbu and coverage of the bastard is everywhere masquarading as news ffs. I would rather set fire to my own face than watch 95% of the stuff on telly (so I don't)

ScrumpyBetty · 05/08/2015 21:13

YABVVVVU, that is all.

BeaufortBelle · 05/08/2015 21:15

Well I feel much the same about the Tennis, the Golf, the Football, the Rugby and especially the flipping Olympics. Do you know what I do, when the rest of the country is obsessed? I disengage and change the channel - there are plenty of choices nowadays.

I am a cook (amateur and family) not a sporty person. Can't you have the teeniest bit of empathy?

nicknameidea · 05/08/2015 21:15

YANBU. I only know its on because most of my facebook friends are talking about it. And you can guarantee it'll be on the news tomorrow and for the rest of the fucking series.

I hate cooking, even baking. No chance I'm gonna sit and watch some people I dont know bake.

christinarossetti · 05/08/2015 21:15

Me neither. It's absolutely beyond me, as is the fact that so many people are hooked.

NaughtToThreeSadOnions · 05/08/2015 21:15

Laffymeal if I can get away from X factor and BGT I'm damn sure you can get away from GBBO.

There's a magic button on your telly called OfF no one is forcing you to buy or read magazines

Fishwives · 05/08/2015 21:19

In fairness, it's on once a year for, what, ten or twelve weeks, and is avoidable compared to, say, the Premier League season, which lasts forever, gets entire radio stations devoted to it, endless tv coverage, and featured on the news and in newspapers alongside actual news. GBBO is small beer in comparison. People might tweet about a melted Baked ALaska, but there aren't hours of talk radio featuring fans frothing at the mouth over bad refereeing decisions on Victoria sponge.

Libitina · 05/08/2015 21:24

Not get GBBO??

Clutches pearls

KinkyAfro · 05/08/2015 21:27

I love it and looking forward to an extra slice with Jo brand on Friday

MrsBertMacklin · 05/08/2015 21:29

I'm happy that they've got rid of the Cakes of Yore segment. If Mel and Sue could get some new schtick I'd enjoy it more.

laffymeal · 05/08/2015 21:30

Aaargh, you just reminded me it has that stupid bloody spin off now
