I think it's disgusting what happened and upsetting.

I'm also a vegetarian and I'm starting to become a vegan now too.

Why are people so outraged by the death of a lion when they probably ate meat the same day?

So because a cow/pig/chicken maybe isn't as interesting or as exotic as a lion it's life is less valuable?

I'm not preaching for people to become vegetarians because its a very personal choice and a big lifestyle change. But aibu to think it's hypocritical to be outraged over a lion when you probably contribute to another animals suffering daily?

I am not a vegetarian but I completely agree with you OP.

Cows and chickens are in no danger to be extinct. So no, there is no correlation. Plus you cannot eat a lion, so killing it is just a vanity act (or in extreme case, protecting your family or yourself from an attack).

No link between the two things, so no hypocrisy. YABU (and preachy)

Cod and plenty of other fish is endangered and people still consume this for their pleasure.

Would it have been OK if he ate the lion then?

CatMilkMan · 03/08/2015 06:47

YABU and stupid.

OP so I take it you don't use carrier bags, or condoms, use a car or bike with tyres, play a musical instrument, watch fireworks, or use toothpaste.

All these things have bits of dead animal in them

So more bashing people for not being perfect in every single way. The more you do to help the situation the more people try to critisise.

I'm sure the op does ask each time she gets on a bus if the wheels ar e totally vegetable based and gets off if 0.000015% has an animal derived product.
