To ask how on earth people get their small DC to sleep at a reasonable time?

I have 2 DC, they are 3 and 1, I just can't seem to get them to sleep at a reasonable time, it was around 9.30pm tonight. They wind each other up and seem to just want to play! I've heard of others getting their kids to sleep by 7pm or earlier. Does this really happen and how? If anyone would like to share their secrets in this regard, I'd be VERY grateful. Thank you.

Artandco - She has to be upstairs by 6:30 lights off by 7:30

JonSnow - A friend of mines boy was also a really bad sleeper - he was diagnosed two years ago (aged 7) and now sleeps really well and has grown a huge amount! He said that he couldn't sleep because his stomach was always 'moving' and it was too uncomfortable.

We aren't ridged though, we will have a later bedtime if we go out to dinner or out for the day etc.

They all get so grumpy of they don't get enough sleep!

My DS goes to bed between 9-10pm and wakes up between 8-10am. That works for us at the moment. We did have a time when DS went to bed arond 7-8 and I think routine is what helped the most. Sticking with the routine and holding strong even if DC put up a fight.
