people that bump park should have their licence taken away

Surely no one thinks bump parking is acceptable? Especially now parking is easy as new cars all have rear parking cameras with guides.

I see it all the time in London and I've never witnessed it happening to my high end car, but I'm sure the small bumps are caused by it.

Olivia my megabus also parks itself, but its never that close to the kerb. It's better to do it myself I unlike some people, can manage to do it without bumping into other cars, 'cause I can actually drive properly.

ilovesooty · 26/07/2015 20:24

X post, sorry.

redbinneo · 26/07/2015 20:25

Thanks for enlightening us Adish. We'd have never known that otherwise.

chippednailvarnish · 26/07/2015 20:26

Red some people don't seem to know.

MadeMan · 26/07/2015 20:26

Do they still make those cars where the wheels can turn 90 degrees to make parking easier? Or did I dream about that?

MissDemelzaCarne · 26/07/2015 20:27

Can't PBP just be zapped or electrocuted?

Lweji · 26/07/2015 20:27

See, I bet the op actually meant Crotch End, as in where she/he lives.

I can't even refer to it as a hairy trucker because we have one and I like him.

A high end car is one where the arse is positioned higher than normal, in other words a SUV
Or where its front is stuck up its own arse.

ADishBestEatenCold · 26/07/2015 20:29

"But when the OP is a PBP as is the case here"

What on earth is a PBP? I think MNHQ people should only ever use acronyms that are actually on the Acronyms list (so to lead by example Wink)

tilliebob · 26/07/2015 20:30

PBP is a previously banned poster isn't it?

Lweji · 26/07/2015 20:30

Previously banned poster.
Aka troll.

chippednailvarnish · 26/07/2015 20:30

Persistent Bollocks Poster?

muminhants1 · 26/07/2015 20:31

then somebody else parks extremely close to you meaning contact is almost inevitable if you're actually to get out. Even then I wouldn't do it.

What would you do then? It happened to me years ago, I was parked near a railway station and a local resident didn't like it so blocked me in with two vans. The only way I could get my car out was to very lightly bump him while I manouvered myself out - if he thought I was going to knock on his door and get a mouthful of abuse it wasn't going to happen. The railway station had been there a lot longer than the houses had.

But to actually park, no of course not. Is this actually a thing? Do people actually do it in the UK? I suppose there are a lot of people who drive cars that are far too big for them and so they just can't park them, but really?

Sparklingbrook · 26/07/2015 20:33

PBPs really love starting driving/parking threads for some reason. Confused

Tuskerfull · 26/07/2015 20:34

I've never seen it in my life, despite living in London for over 20 years and working in central London at times. Limited's excuse that "bump parking" is necessary and normal in central London is bollocks.

RingtheBells · 26/07/2015 20:35

I don't think people do it much and anyway OP obviously made the post up to mention high end car, and parking cameras as they knew a parking thread would generate a lot of interest.

MadeMan · 26/07/2015 20:36

I've seen people driving about with a seated position so low that I wonder how the hell they can see anything through their steering wheel, let alone park the car without bumping anyone.

Also supermarket carparks (even newly built ones) have stupidly small spaces, width and length, for the size of modern vehicles; it almost invites damage everytime I visit one.

RingtheBells · 26/07/2015 20:37

X posts with Sparkling Smile

ADishBestEatenCold · 26/07/2015 20:37

Thank you, tilliebob and Lweji.

Christinayanglah · 26/07/2015 20:37

Wish I hadn't shared about my diamond encrusted bumpers, feels a bit stealth boasty now

Methe · 26/07/2015 20:38

They like to post thread that get a reaction. We all enjoy posts that make us give a reaction.

MN would be hideously dull if it were just posts like what do I need to buy in Lidl or is it ok to wean at 15 weeks and 6.5 days

Seriously MN sometime the made up stuff is the good stuff. I don't give a shite it it's real if it it's making me go Shock. obviously with the caveats it ain't scrounging and no-ones getting hurt bit why they hell does it matter if a parking thread ain't absolutely true to life?

EdwinaLIzzard · 26/07/2015 20:39

I wonder whether the issue really is that all the 'floating people' are parking too close to the OP's high end car and blocking her in whilst they perform along Crouch End High Street …..

And, no, I'm not on drugs just linking to the other thread they started Grin

BleachEverything · 26/07/2015 20:41

A PBP talking utter shit then. So this isn't even true. Boo!

MadeMan · 26/07/2015 20:41

"Wish I hadn't shared about my diamond encrusted bumpers"

You bumpjazzled your car? [shocked]

Christinayanglah · 26/07/2015 20:42

I do like things to be high end you know
