Surely no one thinks bump parking is acceptable? Especially now parking is easy as new cars all have rear parking cameras with guides.

I see it all the time in London and I've never witnessed it happening to my high end car, but I'm sure the small bumps are caused by it.

This bump parking lark......is it acceptable to just bump the high end car or can you bump the smug driver too? Just asking for a friend Grin

NoisyOyster · 26/07/2015 18:37

God you're smug op

Fwiw I have a new '15 plate car. No parking sensors. Yet I manage to park perfectly well without them

Cars get wear and tear. Fact of life. If it's not a scratch to a bumper it'll be a stone from the road or a dead pigeon

ADishBestEatenCold · 26/07/2015 18:37

"If people can't cope with parallel parking then maybe they should park elsewhere."

Now, that bit is true!

eurochick · 26/07/2015 18:37

I've only ever seen it done deliberately in Paris. All of the cars there look like they've been on dodgem track.

I have been to London. I could never live there.

Tiny mind lpo? Thanks for that. Sad

RiverTam · 26/07/2015 18:39

I live in London and I'm surrounded by Johnny Foreigners, I've never noticed this to be a thing. I'm in sarf London though, we're classier down here.

RosePetels · 26/07/2015 18:40

To be fair if I had an expensive car say 10k up it would piss me off if somekone parked up my butt.
I drive an old car though so I have endless scratches and scraps.
If I ever drove an expensive car I would make sure to park away from other cars in car parks ect.

Lweji · 26/07/2015 18:40

Kissing bumpers sounds extra naughty.

And should we allow cars from different classes to kiss bumpers? The OP doesn't seem to think so.

My father's car has parking sensors. They are bloody annoying and will often go mad because of the oddest things.

I'm just waiting for the Google car to buy my next one.

limitedperiodonly · 26/07/2015 18:40

That's okay on all fronts Sparkling

Sparklingbrook · 26/07/2015 18:41

lpo why so nasty?

RosePetels · 26/07/2015 18:42

I live in London ive never seen bump parking but I've seen people who park close to your door so you cannot even open it. Now that's annoying

TheRealAmyLee · 26/07/2015 18:42

My parking sensors went insane the other day. They randomly came on and beeped incessantly because I dared to go over a speed bump. That told me... misses point entirely

Sparklingbrook · 26/07/2015 18:43

They do do that here too Rose. Sad

TheHormonalHooker · 26/07/2015 18:43

Some twat bump parked into DS1's BMW the other week. It's really not what bumpers are for otherwise they would be rubber not painted the same colour as the car. DS1 has got some nice white paint marks on his silver bumper. He should have just left the car at home, really, and ran to the shop! I mean how fucking dare he want to save up for years to buy something nice, and expect other people to treat it with a little bit of respect, just as he does their cars, whether they are an old banger or a brand new Aston Martin!

limitedperiodonly · 26/07/2015 18:43

You can bump anyone as long as you don't cause damage DurhamDurham.

You just need a space.

Lweji · 26/07/2015 18:44

I have googled Crouch End, and have nothing interesting to report about it.

It certainly isn't Highgate...

Sparklingbrook · 26/07/2015 18:45
Christinayanglah · 26/07/2015 18:47

I get so fed up with people bumping the Rolls or Bugatti, it's why I have been forced to diamond encrust the bumpers on the Bentley and Ferrari

Sparkling

Bring your tiny mind over to mind, I haven't heard of Crotch End either

TracyBarlow · 26/07/2015 18:47

Surely it costs exactly the same to repIr a scratch in a hiiiigh end car as it does in a shifty old banger? It's a scratch. Maybe the garage just sees you coming, given you drive a car that is most definitely NOT middle of the range Smile

In not sure why anyone would even think about repairing a minor scratch on an alloy, or a wheel as us plebs call them, for 200 quid. Who's going to notice a scratch on a wheel? Confused

Bailey101 · 26/07/2015 18:47

Does anyone else get the impression that the OP actually drives a clapped out Datsun Cherry that's held together with wire and good luck Grin

ADishBestEatenCold · 26/07/2015 18:48

"limited", were you one of the posters whose vehicle has sensors and can actually park itself, but you chose not to use it?

Is so, I'm just wondering why you don't let it park for you? It won't bump, no matter how tiny the space. Stress free!

Lweji · 26/07/2015 18:48

But more high end would be St John's Wood area, Maida Vale, Primrose Hill.
If we are talking north of the A501.

Sparklingbrook · 26/07/2015 18:48

Grin at 'Crotch End' it didn't look that bad Chris.

limitedperiodonly · 26/07/2015 18:49

lpo why so nasty?

Please don't try that sparklingbrook.

It's beneath you.
