SAHM/P question? (personal)

Going off another thread and because I am extremely nosey...lol
My question is if you are a SAHM (or SAHP)...
How long have you been at home?
How many children do you have and what ages are they?
What does your OH do and what is they're pay (v personal I know!)?
Do you receive wtc ctc and cb?

I don't want this to turn into a bashing thread for or about anyone. It's genuine curiosity of how others live that is all.

I've been a SAHM for over 7 years now, DCs are 7 and 5 and at school.

DH is a Petrochemical consultant and on about 125k, we've lived abroad for the last couple of years, before that he was on 80k in UK. We've never received any benefits.

We were living in the SE of England in a not particularly great commuter town in a modest 3 bedroom semi and whilst we always had enough for bills and food we certainly weren't rolling in it...... Our standard of living is much better now although we live in an expensive city so the money goes easily!

Thanks. Tbh DH sorts it out and I just see the budget lines; I don't actually know what comes into the account from where.

Children 8 and 2.

Sahm for 3 months but varied small salary for last 2-3 years, uni before that. I'm looking for work! My salary should be 30k+ pro rata once I find something.

DH works in finance, earns 45k.

Not a mum yet, dc1 due in Oct. Stopped working in April. DH earns low 6 figures in commercial management. Plan to be a sahm until dc starts reception. May get bored sooner than that. We don't claim nor are we entitled to any wtc/ctc obvs. Not in the UK currently but very much doubt the situation will change much when we repat.

Been a SAHM for 11 years Shock
Went on maternity leave from a 40K a year job and never went back.

We have four DC 11, 9, 7 and 5 we have no family help so financially it would have meant a whole load of money going out in childcare if I was working.

DH earns enough for us to live quite happily on, no CB here either.

SAHM for eight years
Children 11 and 8
DH on about £130k
He is an accountant
I have £10k income
We receive CB (not in UK)

We live in an expensive country so we're not rolling in money. Our house is a three bed semi. We have two oldish cars. One holiday abroad per year. We don't have to worry about day to day expenses or bills but if anything big crops up we have to save for it (currently saving for DD's braces about £4k)

No CB or TC.

Looking to get back to work within next 12-18 months.

I have been a sahm for nearly 24 years although have studied from home and helped dh with his business (voluntarily) during this time.

We have 3 dc
ds1 nearly 24 / left home now.
ds2 20 and still at home
dd 11 and off to board at school soon.

Dh earns a very low income and we have had tax credits since they came in and Family credit before this. We also get cb.
We have a mortgage which is quite low as have been on the property ladder since houses were a lot cheaper.
We started from zero and have never had credit except mortgage, and don't owe anybody anything.
We are able to do this by prioritising and living frugally.

Gosh

we are low income, usually about 17/18K

What do the high income families do with all that money?
We manage fine and even have luxuries/ pay some school fees out of this.

Sahm for nearly 5 years, dc 4 and 1. Dh earns between 30-40k (some commission based work)
Get cb but no tax credits. We try and save money every month as there's lots we'd like to do with the house in the future. We are very lucky to have been able to buy a house with some family help and that I've been able to stay at home.
Even though baby is only 1 I'm starting to think what I can do when they are both in full time school as my dh won't let me not work forever!!

SAHM for 13 years.
3 dc - 13, 10 and 7
DH earns around £190K working in IT for an Investment company. No TCs/ benefits.

I used to say I'd go back to work, but I'm not sure I will now, unless I have to for financial reasons. I like being home when the dc get home from school, doing the school runs, and have plenty to keep me busy.
