To hide the crumpets?

The shopping just arrived, I feel I should hide the warburtons crumpets. The other night DH ate last two - but used light salad cream on them instead of butter (well, buttery spread in this house)!!
It's just wrong, such a waste of a good crumpet. I still haven't got over him putting tomato purée on them for the kids and now that's the only way they'll eat them. Whatever happened to just enjoying your crumpet with a bit of butter on?

YANBU.

Take the crumpets and LTB.

ghostyslovesheep · 14/07/2015 13:12

YABU to have 'butter like spread' you don't deserve crumpets - either of you

GoofyIsACow · 14/07/2015 13:13

I agree, both as bad as each other with your shit crumpet toppings...

fucking light salad cream Shock

fhdl34 · 14/07/2015 13:16

Well I am on a diet already from eating too many crumpets with proper butter on hence the buttery spread.

I think I will hide them in my tummy after weigh in tonight

Light salad cream? Tomato puree? Is your DH well? Grin

You should definitely hide the crumpets and perhaps consider an improvement in your own crumpet toppings Hmm (proper salty butter, nutella or cashew nut butter are recommended in this house).

Contraryish · 14/07/2015 13:20

Crumpets need butter and Bovril. There is no other way.

Spartans · 14/07/2015 13:22

Light salad cream! No

Butter like spread! No

Please take the crumpets back! It's cruel Grin

fhdl34 · 14/07/2015 13:23

Bovril!? WTAF!!

OP posts:
redshoeblueshoe · 14/07/2015 13:25

Butter and marmite

LittleLionMansMummy · 14/07/2015 13:25

What the hell attracted you to your dh in the first place?!

I wouldn't have let him past first base with disgusting habits like that. I really think you need to consider that if he can abuse a crumpet in such a reckless way he'll think nothing of abusing you.

Crosbybeach · 14/07/2015 13:27

Butter like spread. No, just no.

DoJo · 14/07/2015 13:28

Why not just buy more crumpets?! That's my solution - then I put some in the freezer so that the less-dedicated crumpet munchers won't be bothered to prise them apart and you can have them all to yourself.

redshoeblueshoe · 14/07/2015 13:28

Forgot to say YABU and LTB

googoodolly · 14/07/2015 13:29

YABU for not using proper butter!

DrSeuss · 14/07/2015 13:32

Can I just chech- we are talking about actual crumpets? It's not a euphemism?
Has to be butter on real crumpets. Also has to be a branded one. Cheap ones are vile.

fhdl34 · 14/07/2015 13:41

I knew someone would be a marmite advocate.

And I only buy warburtons. I was almost persuaded by some big thick M&S ones the other day but knew they wouldn't live up to warburtons

OP posts:
AnulTheMagnificent · 14/07/2015 14:26

Warburtons are crap

Charley50 · 14/07/2015 14:39

Butter and jam or just butter for me. And stop denying yourself butter!

fhdl34 · 14/07/2015 14:49

Anul which are superior to warburtons?

OP posts:
MythicalKings · 14/07/2015 14:50

It is never unreasonable to hide crumpets.

Purpleball · 14/07/2015 14:58

Butter and bovril
Butter and jam
Butter and lime marmalade
Butter and cheese

And none of your fake butter shite either

IHaveBrilloHair · 14/07/2015 15:00

Butter and marmite or blue cheese.

fhdl34 · 14/07/2015 15:12

No cheese, especially not blue!!!

OP posts:
redshoeblueshoe · 14/07/2015 15:19

Lime marmalade - now there's something to think about Smile

Noodledoodledoo · 14/07/2015 15:40

Butter is much healthier for you than butter like spread - even when following a weight lose plan - you need much less of it to get the best buttery flavour.

I agree with others neither of you deserve the crumpets!

Crumpets with melted cheese with a scraping of marmite under is the best!
