WIBU to keep my son off school for this?

So I had a hairdresser appointment this morning for 9.30. I desperately needed a cut and colour before going on holiday next week.

Unfortunately my dd was sick at 7.30am...although she seemed fine afterwards. This meant I had to keep her off school.
Given that the chances of getting another appointment in time for the hols was zero, was I bu to call in a sicky for my eldest son (14) this morning to watch her while I kept the appointment I had? Fridays are a half day at school anyway here.

My hair is looking great now but I don't know if I did the right thing.
What would you have done?

We'd get the sack if we did nothing at our school. It's actually a time to get coursework done

I am shocked & disappointed that some of you would have changed your opinion if you'd known it was Pictish!

If it was Pictish I would have thought. 'Oh that's a bit of an odd post for them' and hidden it probably. I can't confess to knowing what Pictish usually posts about but would see the name as a longstanding one and not known for controversial AIBUs AFAIK.

I actually thought it was just someone wanting a bunfight as it was.
