To be annoyed the Tory 30 hour free childcare doesn't apply in Scotland!

It's just annoying, to be honest.

I don't like the Tories, but if we have to have them the least they could do is throw us a bone up here.

30 hours free childcare when my DD turned 3 would be absolutely fantastic. I could actually afford to live a normal life again, why isn't in Scotland? 15 hours is great, don't get me wrong, but 30 hours would be PERFECT.

Scotland also has free prescriptions. Does it have free eye tests?

insead of blaming the tories blame the SNP - they are in charge of the care budget for Scotland. Sturgeon did say in her speech last year that if SNP got in they would double childcare - have they done it yet? you know the answer to that question...

Blame Sturgeon instead of the Tories. sturgeon wants power over Scottish spending and she wants to make decisions for Scotland.
You have free university tuition and free prescriptions which we don't have in England so you really have nothing to complain about. I would rather free tuition fees than an extra 15 hours term time only free childcare.

We have free eye tests but whats the point when glasses cost me £300+ the cost of an eye test is a drop in the ocean

Free dental check ups but the cost of treatment is horrendous

I dont think they are actually free the costs are hidden elsewhere!

Laat year we free nursery hours up to 15 a week from 12.5 with the plan to keep increasing the hours up to 30 by 2020

But yeah, free eye tests are nothing when the cost of glasses are pretty horrendous, same with dental treatment - it's extortionate.

I'd happily pay for the medication I use if it meant I could work more & keep more of my money to spend it on things like eye examinations, dental check ups & prescriptions.

Don't worry though, at least your child's Named Person will make decisions for them you can't while they are at nursery 15 hrs pw.

(And still there's folk asking for more freebies whilst also blaming the Tories. By the time everyone wakes up it'll be too late).

I read an article that said the 30 hour free childcare had already been put into practice in some areas of England - and that there were hiccups with the 8 hour a week working minimum???

I don't want to have my cake and eat it - I want to swap my cake for something more useful, like a 30 hour free salad, or something.
