daughter asked if she can have friday coming of work as we arranged a family day out. it was arranged before she got the job.

his reply was.Your on router i cant change it next time give more notice.

daughter thinks that means she can go but should give more notice next time.

i think it means. no you cant go. next time give more notice and you will be able to go...

tubbytimmy · 21/06/2015 18:25

I think you are right.

ToadsJustFellFromTheSky · 21/06/2015 18:25

The second option.

RunsWithScissors · 21/06/2015 18:25

Definitely can't go.

MyPelvicFloorTrainsItself · 21/06/2015 18:25

She can't go.

haveabreakhaveakitkat · 21/06/2015 18:26

She can't go

DoreenLethal · 21/06/2015 18:26

You're on rota. I can't change it. Next time give more notice.

If that's what the response was then no, she can't go.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 21/06/2015 18:27

Can you not re-arrange the day out, or have you got tickets?

WorraLiberty · 21/06/2015 18:27

He clearly said, "I can't change it".

IssyStark · 21/06/2015 18:28

She can't go, and if she knew about it when she got the job, why on earth didn't she tell them then?

Pagwatch · 21/06/2015 18:28

I read it that she can't go.

manicinsomniac · 21/06/2015 18:28

I agree with the PP, he was saying she can't go. Can she switch shifts with someone?

FishWithABicycle · 21/06/2015 18:30

She's on the rota. If the rota can't be changed then obviously she needs to work the shift she's rota'd for. If she doesn't she'd be sacked.

ghostspirit · 21/06/2015 18:31

i asked her that steff its like talking to the cat. i think shes going to speak to him asap see if she can sort something i doubt it though

AuntyMag10 · 21/06/2015 18:31

It clearly states it can't be changed. How can your daughter be confused about a simple, clear message?

Eigg · 21/06/2015 18:32

From what you've said she doesn't have permission.

Is there any reason she didn't give notice when she accepted the job that she'd need that day off?

EeyoresTail · 21/06/2015 18:33

Is it her contacted day to work?
If not then it's up to him to find someone to work it.
She should have said when she started that she had plans then he would have to honour it.

ghostspirit · 21/06/2015 18:33

fish i so knew i was spelling rota wrong it just did not look right at all Grin

Discopanda · 21/06/2015 18:35

Which is why punctuation is important!

BeaufortBelle · 21/06/2015 18:37

Of course she can't go. Why didn't she bring it up when she accepted the job? Hard fact of life I think, for both of you.

ghostspirit · 21/06/2015 18:41

mag no reason she just was :/

eigg daughter would not have thought about it. but she did try and tell them. manager was not in so she told supervisor. he told her to tell manager. she had no contact detales. manages to get an email address. sends email no reply. the discovers this is not right email. emails him again with the right email. and that was the reply.

eeyores i guess it is ? shes on zero contract hours
