Context: I'm a SAHM, 2 under 5, on playgroup, pre-school run & day out days, I dress smart. If we're having a home day getting messy baking & playing on the floor etc, I wear what I like to call my 'lounge outfit.'
essentially pj trousers & top. But, importantly I think, I have sets of pjs that I designate as lounge outfits & therefore never sleep in, so to me, they aren't pjs. Anyway, DM carefully suggested to me this morning that I should 'get dressed' so that I when answer the door I'm not in my pjs. She said staying in my pjslounge outfit all day sends the message that I don't care. My point is a. they aren't y pjs as I don't sleep in them and b. It's my house, I want to feel comfortable playing at home with my kids & I don't care what the postman thinks when I answer the door. AIBU? AIBSlovenly?!
