What is the inspiration behind your user name.
Mine is my love of the sea tranquility lighthouses and of course no light house would be complete without a ghost

LadyMaryofDownton · 19/06/2015 11:35

My real name is Mary & my Family think I talk like her from Downton ( I don't) but I do like her.

BarrowlandBiddy · 19/06/2015 11:37

I attend gigs at this Glasgow music venue as often as I can, possible probable mid-life crisis Smile Fell in love with the place at my first gig in 1989.
However, as I am longer crowdsurfing down the front, as in my very drunk youth, I feel like an old 'biddy' standing sensibly at the back.

On the plus side, it's close to the bar........ Grin

DivaDroid · 19/06/2015 11:38

I was watching Red Dwarf one night. This is my 2nd RD name, my last NN was Cumberbatch related, and my first MN NN was utterly shit.

IvanOsokin · 19/06/2015 11:44

Ivan is the protagonist in a quirky old Russian novella about a man who keeps revisiting his past life in the hope that he can get things to turn out differently.

Needless to say, it doesn't work out that way but it's a notion that appeals...

notarehearsal · 19/06/2015 11:47

Because I have to keep reminding myself that life is..

enviro300 · 19/06/2015 11:51

Mine is related to my job

DiseasesOfTheSheep · 19/06/2015 12:35

Gosh I always thought "take me up the north mountain" was some sort of euphemism for something unsavoury Shock

TheSconeOfStone · 19/06/2015 13:36

Name changed when sir terry pratchett died. All the discworld names I actually wanted were already taken.

KissMyFatArse · 19/06/2015 13:45

Because I have a fat arse and if you don't like me you can kiss it! WinkWinkSmile

PanGalaticGargleBlaster · 19/06/2015 13:50

I am a Douglas Adams fan and my username is Zaphod Beeblebrox's favourite drink.

TakeMeUpTheNorthMountain · 19/06/2015 13:50

wol1968 · 19/06/2015 15:50

Mine is the way Owl signs himself in Winnie the Pooh. He's the 'brainy' one that uses lots of long words, something I'm renowned for. And the number is my birth year.

RackofPeas · 19/06/2015 16:21

Someone was teaching our church a new song, but their enunciation was just terrible. Nobody could quite follow what they were singing. Cue me asking dh if I was losing my hearing or was there a line about peas?
We concluded later that they were singing 'You are my rock of peace' but all I could get was 'You are my rack of peas' which I want to sing now if the song ever comes up.

Fingerblastingfun · 19/06/2015 16:30
Blush
pictish · 19/06/2015 16:34

Because I am descended from the Scottish Picts. As are lots of Scots.

RaptorInaPorkPieHat · 19/06/2015 16:41

I'm a Raptor.

I wear a pork pie hat.

Or it could be an Eddie Izzard reference covered in bees

PennyHassett · 19/06/2015 16:46

I'm an Archers fan - trying out my new name.

BabCNesbitt · 19/06/2015 16:47

In honour of the finest raconteur my home city has ever produced, Mr Robert C Nesbitt.

GardeningWithDynamite · 19/06/2015 16:51

Minecraft....

6yo DD was experimenting with the creative version on the iPad. She'd got the house sorted but needed to clear a bit of space for a garden. Did she use a shovel? Nope. Dynamite. Lots and lots of dynamite. A few minutes later there was a cry of "Mummmeeeeeee!!!!" as she was standing in the bottom of a huge chasm, having blown the front of the house up and an awful lot of the surrounding area.

TheImprobableGirl · 19/06/2015 16:54

I loved miss Oswald in doctor who (matt Smith) but nothing is impossible. Implausible possibly improbable perhaps, but never impossible (favourite quote) . A la improbable girl!

ohdobuckup · 19/06/2015 16:54

Because I am a counsellor and have worked for ages in mental health and allied services, and sometimes, just sometimes....(I saw it on a greeting card and sent it to myself) I want to say something along those lines...never do of course

VelvetGreen · 19/06/2015 17:11

Mine is from a slightly naughty Jethro Tull song.

StackladysMorphicResonator · 19/06/2015 17:18

A wizard's staff poked out. The chieftan saw the knob on the end.

"Now, then," he said pleasantly. "I know the rules. Wizards aren't allowed to use magic against civilians except in genuine lifethreatening situa-"

There was a burst of octarine light.

"Actually, it's not a rule," said Ridcully. "It's more a guideline." He turned to Ponder Stibbons. "Interestin' use of Stacklady's Morphic Resonator here, I hope you noticed."

Ponder looked down.

The chieftain had been turned into a pumpkin although, in accordance with the rules of universal humour, he still had his hat on.
