What is the inspiration behind your user name.
Mine is my love of the sea tranquility lighthouses and of course no light house would be complete without a ghost

World of Warcraft reference. People keep calling me baby. It unnerves me. I might change again...

storybrooke · 19/06/2015 09:27

Withershins · 19/06/2015 09:30

Mine means "contrary to the suns course" so basically in the opposite direction or contrary to reason and convention. I am sometimes deliberately contrary Wink

alsmutko · 19/06/2015 09:36

It's interesting how posters shorten others names as well. Sometimes I'm Al but on one thread I got called Smut which amused a few people, partly due to the nature of the thread (lusting after musketeers).

hoobypickypicky · 19/06/2015 09:36

A hoobypickypicky is a rarely understood thing that's oft on the go. That'll be me then!

Or, my kids loved the Hoobs and I like motorbikes. Hoobypickypicky is the colourful bike ridden by one of the characters in the children's series.

LadyGnome · 19/06/2015 09:36

It's a reference to Private Eye's fictitious proprietor.

alsmutko · 19/06/2015 09:36

Withershins is a great name!

Ananke99 · 19/06/2015 09:37

I'm a fairly recent name changer, and interested in Greek mythology. (Ananke is considered a powerful dictator of fate & circumstance.)

Kajamite · 19/06/2015 09:44

World of Warcraft. The mineral that done gave the goblins smarts.

StuffYouAllInTheCrust · 19/06/2015 09:45

A line from Despicable Me!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 19/06/2015 10:01

Motorway driving- especially the (IMO) very outdated speed limit.
Not that I am the type of driver to put my foot to the floor as soon as I reach a motorway though, my Mum-mobile cries if it's asked to go over 62mph Grin

BishopBrennansArse · 19/06/2015 10:02

Father Ted.

BishopBrennansArse · 19/06/2015 10:03

Lovewhereilive · 19/06/2015 10:05

Because I do, especially the hills!

MerryInthechelseahotel · 19/06/2015 10:14

I was Inthechelseahotel after the Leonard Cohen song and became Merry one Christmas and I like it better

DJThreeDog · 19/06/2015 10:15

I name change fairly often, then almost always out myself on my own threads!

This one is because I'm completely fangirling over the release date of Fallout 4 for Xbox One.

GingerFoxInAT0phat · 19/06/2015 10:23

I was drinking from a mug that had a ginger fox in a top hat print when I name changed. Very unoriginal. Also had to slot a number in somewhere

HemlockStarglimmer · 19/06/2015 10:35

I got mine from a fairy name generator that someone linked to a while ago.

I've had a few names since I started but this one has stuck for the longest.

FishCanFly · 19/06/2015 10:43

None, just random thing that popped into my head.

JammyGem · 19/06/2015 10:53

The day I signed up for mumsnet I'd called the Frenchman at work a 'jammy git' for something or other, then had to explain what it meant when he looked utterly confused. He started calling me Jammy for the rest of the shift.
In a bizarre twist, said Frenchman is now my DP. Grin

goodtimesinbontemps · 19/06/2015 10:57

I was watching True Blood at the time Grin Grin

Dowser · 19/06/2015 11:19

I dowse.

TakeMeUpTheNorthMountain · 19/06/2015 11:29

From Frozen. ..

I too wanted the Lumpy space princess name but some fucker took it. I don't even think they post!

BrittaTheNeedlesslyDefiant · 19/06/2015 11:31

Herrena - do you have henna hair?

And sensible armour, appropriate for the practical barbarian heroine? Wink

Mine is from one of my favourite programmes, Community.
