if you can't afford the children you have you shouldn't have more?

was speaking to a couple I know today, both out of work and living on benifits. They have 3 children and they are very vocal about how awful it is that they barely get enough money to survive. It turn out that she is now pregnant with their 4th child! This was planned and they are delighted?! They use food banks and thir children have every gadget and toy known to man!

When I asked how on earth they will manage with another child she blatantly said the money they recieve will go up and that it is her right to have as many children as she likes?!!

I have 2DC, I would love a 3rd but we would struggle finNcislly so have made the decision not to. I believe benifits should be capped at 2 children, she obviously doesn't agree! If she can't afford to pay for the children she has why should I go without yet pay for hers through my taxes? AIBU?

Of course you didn't MRS, pretty sure anyone reading that could see what you were saying ..... Anyhoooo

can't you see I'm agreeing with you, the clarity of your points has convinced me that indeed, people no longer need to take responsibility for their actions if it makes them unhappy. If anyone questions that they are obviously heartless uncaring judgmental fuckwits, especially if they work!

Why, if this is a thread that, in your opinion, has been overdone so many times, do you insist on posting on it and berating me? You must be enjoying it so I'm glad to have been of service and passed a few hours for you Smile

There's a possibility that dear Olivia has just started backtracking to see who's tried to frighten the OP.

ilovesooty · 04/06/2015 21:20

It sounds as though the OP is managing just fine. For someone new.

MistressMerryWeather · 04/06/2015 21:21

I do not patrol!

I prowl menacingly.

1Morewineplease · 04/06/2015 21:22

DH and I waited four years after marrying (six if you count courting!)to afford to have a baby... Just posted my thoughts but I know that on MN I'd be slaughtered!!! So I deleted them! Just want to say , if you can't afford a baby then wait( oh I'll be slaughtered for that too no doubt!!!)

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 04/06/2015 21:25

Yes no one ever benefit bashes on MN. It's such a liberal place these days Hmm

Some threads recently were like it was FarRightNet

MistressMerryWeather · 04/06/2015 21:26

Is being 'slaughtered' the new trend on MN?

I have seen it being posted a lot recently in the same hopeful style.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 04/06/2015 21:26

I don't "slaughter" people for benefit bashing. I just think they are twats.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 04/06/2015 21:28

1moreWine here have a big medal for being so socially responsible. Go you high five

idliketoteachtheworldtosing · 04/06/2015 21:28

I can understand why you feel like you do OP, luckily people lime this are the exception and not the rule.
I agree that vouchers should be given out as well as money, this way it can be guaranteed that some of the feckless parents can feed their children properly and not waste money that the children need to be fed and clothed. everyone is entitled to an opinion!

ilovesooty · 04/06/2015 21:28

Are there really lots of delicate people frightened to post criticism of people claiming bandits?

ilovesooty · 04/06/2015 21:30

Apologies for that unintentional autocorrect. I'm sure no one should get a bandit to which they're not entitled. Grin

MistressMerryWeather · 04/06/2015 21:30

I claim all the bandits, Sooty. :o

SurlyCue · 04/06/2015 21:30

Interesting fact: there was a goady fucker fucking goadies sticking the boot into single mothers and another having a pop at domestic abuse victims over the last few days.

Just sayin'

ShiftingSandsofSamarkand · 04/06/2015 21:30

*Yanbu at all OP but this is Mumsnet and you are absolutely never allowed to express an opinion like that.!

Those who disagree with you are far far more vocal than those who agree and will slap you down instantly, accuse you of being "goady", swear at you and generally try and frighten you into keeping quiet.

Mums net is patrolled daily by often the same posters who are always on the lookout for anyone who doesn't toe the liberal line*

So true - excellent post, SeenSheen! OP I totally agree with you and I think you've been treated disgustingly on this thread by a group of posters who seem to think that they can say what they like and no one should have an opinion which differs from theirs!

AnyoneForTennis · 04/06/2015 21:31

Don't wait to have that baby, just have it. You'll be poor but then you can just have another and make yourselves even poorer.... Don't stop at 2 tho, keep going, doesn't matter, there's a 'safety net' there for you

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 04/06/2015 21:31

Oh no you poor Tories. You are just silenced so much on here.

No way is MN really full of judgy right wing benefit bashing threads or anything.

Or...

morelikeguidelines · 04/06/2015 21:32

I have had to resort to a Google search to finally find out what goats have to do with it. Thanks so much all Grin

I don't know why I didn't think of it earlier.

ShiftingSandsofSamarkand · 04/06/2015 21:32

*I do not patrol!

I prowl menacingly.*

Deluded Hmm

morelikeguidelines · 04/06/2015 21:32

Ps you all get my goat Wink

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 04/06/2015 21:32

Oh no .a "safety net" let em all starve

The5DayChicken · 04/06/2015 21:34

Ah but many posters don't see what they do as benefits bashing.

Somehow. Though I can't quite work out how they delude themselves. Talking about a piss taking minority as if they were a majority, then suggesting measures to apply to the majority in order to deal with the minority is a perfectly decent way to go about things in their books.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 04/06/2015 21:34

ShiftingSands you is well 'ard standing up to these scary left wing types on MN who don't want kids to live in poverty.

Anyway this thread is amusing but am off to bed.

Lady1nred · 04/06/2015 21:35

I'm certainly not frightened haha it's an anonymous forum. I am surprised Though. I found this site doing a Google search on an issue we had with my daughter. I read a few of these AIBU threads but didn't see anything like the shit that's been thrown around here tonight.
