OH eats 4 at a time Shock

He isn't known for small portions, and then complains when I don't finish meals! Don't get me wrong I like my food, but it's just ridiculous.

Please tell me I'm not unreasonable!

Always have three myself - middle ground..

WinterOfOurDiscountTents15 · 03/06/2015 19:21

I think a normal portion is whatever a person eating it decides it is. So what if he likes 4 weetabix?

awombwithaview · 03/06/2015 19:23

I always have two but then I'm petite....if I were a taller, wider build I might need more. Is he a big chap?

CaptainHolt · 03/06/2015 19:23

I have 2 and I'm generally a small eater. Ds has 4 and he's a very small 11yo

TheMoa · 03/06/2015 19:26

My 8 year old has three, and is starving an hour later.

They are slightly crappy, as food goes.

Soduthen116 · 03/06/2015 19:27

Unless he's grossly obese you are unreasonable and it's not your place to tell another adult what to eat.

My dss would eat 4 by the time they were teenagers.

DragonMamma · 03/06/2015 19:28

I would only ever have 2. A woman I work with has one but she's like a rake.

SqueezyCheeseWeasel · 03/06/2015 19:28

I would agree that 2 was a 'portion'.

manicinsomniac · 03/06/2015 19:28

I definitely think 2 would be the norm

But don't think 1, 3 or 4 would be abnormal.

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 03/06/2015 19:31

my 6 and 3 yr olds have 2 each for breakfast and still starving an hour later....

mrsdavidbowie · 03/06/2015 19:32

'Ds has between 5 and 7 for breakfast. He's 16.

thenightsky · 03/06/2015 19:32

Two is a portion these days I reckon.

However when I was little (1960s) 1 was considered the norm for children.

WorldsBiggestGrotbag · 03/06/2015 19:33

They're basically just air that tastes like cardboard aren't they?

DoJo · 03/06/2015 19:33

YABU to think that any amount is a 'portion' by anyone's standards but those of the person eating them. But two is the 'serving suggestion' portion on the packet normally!

EastMidsMummy · 03/06/2015 19:34

Two is a standard portion.

Tanaqui · 03/06/2015 19:34

They were bigger in the olden days cis the corners were square!

BikketBikketBikket · 03/06/2015 19:35

My 2 yr-old DGC has two for breakfast every day... As a pp said, normal is what you decide Smile

tumsup · 03/06/2015 19:37

2 for an adult would be the norm here.

My 9 year old would have one.

DH and I are fat. 9 year old is never hungry.

GoodbyeToAllOfThat · 03/06/2015 19:40

Surely this is his decision to make without your input?

Wideopenspace · 03/06/2015 19:42

The nutrition bit on the side works out the calories etc based on a 2 biscuit portion.

hibbledibble · 03/06/2015 19:43

Is he overweight?

I think its up to him to decide his portion size.

Dd has been known to have 6 for breakfast, and she is skinny as a rake.

I only have 2.

yourinnergoddess · 03/06/2015 19:43

oh my

2 weetabix wipes out the difference in calorie requirements unless he does lots of exercise

if he gets a bit tubby, switch him to dry food for a bit, and shut him out for an hour or two on a regular basis

CowGull · 03/06/2015 19:44

I have four, I think's it's a large portion but not unreasonably so, just enough to see me through until lunch. Two would leave me chewing my arm off by 9:00.

TeacupTravels · 03/06/2015 19:47

Wow. I had no idea anyone had more than 2! Would 4 fit in a bowl or do you have a 2 weetabix serving twice?

(I'd personally have 2 weetabix and maybe have toast/egg etc if I was hungry, so no logic to thinking 4 sounds a lot!)

Huffs123 · 03/06/2015 19:48

I have two and then fill up the bowl with another cereal of my choice! Grin
