It's all just sinking in, and the other political threads are too eloquent for what I want to express this morning.

Oh tits. This is rubbish.

OP posts:
Icimoi · 08/05/2015 14:32

Shinytortoise, you do know, don't you, that government borrowing went up more under 5 years of the Conservatives than it did under 13 years of Labour?

And for all that you resent funding benefits for the "job shy", what about all of those who would absolutely love to have a job but can't because jobs don't exist, or because they are too ill or disabled?

trevortrevorslatterfry · 08/05/2015 14:35

YY thisfence. I even voted TUSC in the council elections (no candidate for the GE) hoping it would send a message to Labour when they made their coalition with the SNP!

FAAAAAAKKKK

I feel totally isolated from other parts of England because of this result.. who are all these people who support the Tories? Sad

I'm hoping Scotland can take us with them when they go independent.

HairyWorm · 08/05/2015 14:39

It's a big steaming pile of crap. I'm genuinely worried about the most vulnerable in society.

Bodyinpyjamas10 · 08/05/2015 14:39

noddy I don't think the Tories are planning a cull do you really?

Look labour lost this one. They picked a lame leader. They need to dust off and regroup. They will be back.

penisland · 08/05/2015 14:39

You sound such a lovely empathic person! I'm sure I can dispatch some homeless people to camp in your garden

You're most welcome to send them but I think they may struggle to physically get in there. Not sure my dogs would be especially keen on uninvited visitors either!

ThisFenceIsComfy · 08/05/2015 14:39

People didn't turn away from socialism because of Blair though.

Blair was never a socialist.

You miss the point of why people are upset. We don't want kind Tories.

ThisFenceIsComfy · 08/05/2015 14:43

Penisland one of my friends is a staunch Tory.

When I explained to her how upset and crushed I felt, she was kind enough to give me a pep talk and said I should feel proud for standing up for what I believe in. Shame you don't have her empathy or dignity.

ouryve · 08/05/2015 14:44

It could have been worse. Under PR, The Tories could still have been the biggest party, plus there would have been a bunch of UKIP thugs in parliament, too.

LotusLight · 08/05/2015 14:45

Only the left would express themselves in the way that this thread title does. We have been saved today. It is a great day for Britain.

No party in Britain will look after people of all income levels as the Tories will do. We are lucky to have them. They protect the poor much better than the left ever do.

Bodyinpyjamas10 · 08/05/2015 14:45

This then you are forever doomed to fuuuuukkkkk then arnt you.

ThisFenceIsComfy · 08/05/2015 14:48

Yes Body.

That's why people are expressing themselves as such on this thread.

Newbrummie · 08/05/2015 14:48

Well Lotus I hope you are right and I am wrong I truly do ... As I said I am not a staunch anything but after working hard for 20 years I find myself at the States mercy due to an idiot of an ex husband and my own stupid belief in him, so let's see if all my hard work raising good children pays off now they are going to be brought up in Beirut lol

ouryve · 08/05/2015 14:51

Some people on here would love the prime minister to go to wonga loans get a big loan we can't pay off so the lazy job shy people of this country can continue living for free while the rest of us pay for them.

And what about those people who are working, all hours or no hours, depending on the whim of their boss, but getting a pittance in return, so need benefits just to be able to keep a roof over their heads? What about those people who are ill or disabled and who simply can not work enough hours to get by, if at all? What about those people with caring responsibilities for someone who needs around the clock care, but gets minimal external help? What about people who get made redundant, then sent back to their old workplace on workfare?

Or are all those people lazy and job shy, too?

Bodyinpyjamas10 · 08/05/2015 14:56

Oh ok so it's self indulgent woe are us.

Ok personally I think working people deserve better.

ThisFenceIsComfy · 08/05/2015 15:00

Yes. How awful. Like-minded people share similar opinions on an Internet forum after a massively disappointing election result.

Why are you so desperate to post here? You've won, go celebrate, enjoy the next five years.

Bodyinpyjamas10 · 08/05/2015 15:07

This er I am quite entitled to post anywhere thanks. We all are.

My family are a mixed bag of voters but all started off as labour. My parents left during the disgraceful militant tendency years when they bAsically butt fucked kinnock.

I have voted labour in many elections. Some delivered some didn't.

I absolutely knew labour were toast under Ed.

I did vote Tory because I felt I had no credible alternative just like millions of other working people.

God forbid lots voted UKIP!

So you have your pity party and refuse to see the need for change.

ThisFenceIsComfy · 08/05/2015 15:13

I didn't say you weren't entitled. I merely questioned your motive.

Yes I will enjoy my pity party thankfully. Maybe tomorrow I will wake up and have a clearer mind. I will engage again so that I can see a way forward. Whatever that will be.

But for one day, I'm going to be upset.

Conservative got 11 316 429 votes
Labour got 9 339 818

So (ignoring seats) conservative got 1 976 611 more votes.

That doesn't seem a lot more to me considering the size of the population, yet it seems to be vote conservative or 'other', so as smaller parties rise in numbers, the conservatives will get stronger.

Balonder · 08/05/2015 15:24

Proportional representation is a lot more democratic than what has just happened in the U.K.

Bodyinpyjamas10 · 08/05/2015 15:24

Fair enough this but do remember labour will be back. Give them 10 years or even less and there will be a Labour landslide.

That's politics. Smile

Dawndonnaagain · 08/05/2015 15:25

Body. It's quite insulting the way you go on about working people. My dh is disabled, as are three of my children, ergo I am no longer in a position to be able to work. I am still entitled to a) an opinion and b) a vote. Please stop using the phrase 'working people', the rest of us aren't all skivers, which you is the implication when you use the phrase in the manner in which you do.
Thank you.

Bodyinpyjamas10 · 08/05/2015 15:26

And my motive for posting was debate! Why on earth else does anyone post? What a strange question.

Stickytoffeepuddingplease · 08/05/2015 15:27

Oh get a fucking grip.

The only way we would be screwed is if the nightmare party that is Labour had of got in.

Thank fuck they never :)

Then we would have been well and truly screwed.

Please lefties..... Your party did appalling last night.

FFS accept defeat graciously .

Bodyinpyjamas10 · 08/05/2015 15:27

I use the term working people as opposed to working class people.

My own dd has a blue badge too btw.
