To think you shouldn't insult someone just because they voted differently to you?

It feels like a lot of you would feel more at home in a dictatorship.

I've seen people being called stupid, selfish etc just because they decided to vote differently

I don't care who anyone voted for. I do care that we are a nation that allows everyone to vote for who they want without the threat of violence.

MrsDraper, maybe because they can't afford to just up and leave their jobs...?

Or maybe because the Tories would just love it if all the disabled, poor, LGBTQ, BME liberals left and they were free to do whatever the hell they liked without criticism or tempering?

PausingFlatly · 08/05/2015 17:01

Because there are more than 2.5 million people too sick to work at any given time (many expected to recover, some who won't)?

ESA figures also include people not actually receiving any money, just being covered for National Insurance pension contributions.

TheSecondMrsDraper · 08/05/2015 17:02

But it is squoosh

Free movement of people so you could go anywhere in the EU if you believe this government will ruin our country.

Surely you are confident that the next 5 years will be hell and we will be destroyed right?

So Labour will be guaranteed to be in power in 5 years?

squoosh · 08/05/2015 17:08

Free movement of people in the EU? I'm well aware thanks, seeing as I'm a foreigner to these shores. I've no doubt you'd have something to say about that too.

But I think I'll stick around if it's all the same to you. Someone has to be here to pick up the pieces.

Sweeping brush at the ready!

devon004 · 08/05/2015 17:17

My dh did. Torys took £188 per month chb off us but he still votes for them.

Selfishcuntydupe · 08/05/2015 17:18

They took almost £400 from us a month . Seems fair.

TondelayoSchwarzkopf · 08/05/2015 17:18

mrsdraper - you're asking non-Tories to leave the country?

And yet it's Labour voters who are supposed to be the mean nasty ones?

Selfishcuntydupe · 08/05/2015 17:22

No she isn't. She's merely suggesting that if the prospect of five years of Tory rule is so utterlu unpalatable she can always leave.

squoosh · 08/05/2015 17:23

Such pathetic childish nonsense.

'Wah, wah, leave our country if you're not going to join in the jolly Tory fun'.

TheSecondMrsDraper · 08/05/2015 17:26

mrsdraper - you're asking non-Tories to leave the country?

And yet it's Labour voters who are supposed to be the mean nasty ones?

No I never said non-Tory voters leave the country. Hmm

I said if you think it's the worst thing that ever happened to you then leave the country. How is that mean and nasty?

That's an option that is there for people. If I really thought this country was going to be destroyed because of a government I never voted in then why would I want to stay?

TondelayoSchwarzkopf · 08/05/2015 17:27

If you don't like our government why don't you leave? Is that what MrsDraper is saying?

squoosh · 08/05/2015 17:28

You do a lovely line in disingenuous Draper.

TheSecondMrsDraper · 08/05/2015 17:29

'Wah, wah, leave our country if you're not going to join in the jolly Tory fun'

HmmConfused

Our country? Erm .... ok.

I'm making the point that if you truly believe your life will be ruined, that everything that is good about this country will be gone forever and that we now have no future then you have the option to leave.

No one is forced to stay here.

Selfishcuntydupe · 08/05/2015 17:30

To be fair, it did cross my mind to leave if Ed N WeeJimmy had got in.

Sallystyle · 08/05/2015 17:31

I may have said some harsh things last night.

I don't give a shit. Right now I am pissed off, disappointed and really scared.

Sorry, but right now I am really saddened and disheartened by the people who voted for them when my husband and others like him have had to suffer so much cuts meaning their illness has got worse and worse.

I can;t find it in myself right now to be respectful towards those who voted for that.

squoosh · 08/05/2015 17:31

Basically Draper feels we're ruining her party so we should either shut up and put up or ship on out of here. Because a country where everyone is in thrall to the government sounds like a very healthy society indeed!

TheSecondMrsDraper · 08/05/2015 17:33

If you don't like our government why don't you leave? Is that what MrsDraper is saying?

Well no.

There will be some people who didn't vote conservative and will just get on with their life and do the best they can in a bad situation.

But those who think the next 5 years will be hell and that their life is not worth living there is the option of leaving.

5 years is a long time, I wouldn't want to waste it being miserable and hating the country I lived it.

Selfishcuntydupe · 08/05/2015 17:34

U2 - just because you do not wish to be respectful to complete strangers who simply do not share your political persusion, there really is no need to be abusinve or vitriolic and completely disrespectful.

Milllions and millions of us voted Tory. What you gonna do - visit us all individually to tell us what utter cunts we all are?

TheSecondMrsDraper · 08/05/2015 17:35

Basically Draper feels we're ruining her party so we should either shut up and put up or ship on out of here. Because a country where everyone is in thrall to the government sounds like a very healthy society indeed!

Basically you are just purposely missing the point.

Ice is your friend. Firstly for some scotch to calm down and secondly for your bum after getting such a brutal butt kicking Smile

Sallystyle · 08/05/2015 17:35

And no, I don't have sour grapes. I am not having a paddy because I lost a game or something.

My husband's mental illness has got worse because of all the services he has lost. I am fearful for him and us as a family if that gets worse.

I am fearful for those like him and others in vulnerable situations.

Sour grapes it isn't. It is fear.

squoosh · 08/05/2015 17:37

I'm making the point that if you truly believe your life will be ruined, that everything that is good about this country will be gone forever and that we now have no future then you have the option to leave.

Sorry but who used the phrase 'life will be ruined'? I'm pretty certain it wasn't me. I'm not really prone to such histrionics you see.

But really, thank you, for imparting to me this new information that people are free to leave the country if they want. Groundbreaking stuff indeed. Some people might say it's predictable drivel but they're just meanies.

squoosh · 08/05/2015 17:39

Who gave me a 'butt' kicking?

Selfishcuntydupe · 08/05/2015 17:39

I see that U2.

I also see that we live in a democracy so have the right to vote as we see fit.

I don't share your political beliefs it would seem but I have complete respect for your right to hold them and act upon them.

Sallystyle · 08/05/2015 17:39

Well I haven't exactly been abusive have I?

I haven't called anyone a cunt. I am not going to start now.

I don't respect people who voted for them as it is too sore right now, although of course I am glad that we all get to make our own choice. I have not abused anyone though.

Selfishcuntydupe · 08/05/2015 17:40

I'm not sure what " harsh things " you said?

*I may have said some harsh things last night.

I don't give a shit. Right now I am pissed off, disappointed and really scared.*
