I have a sicky feeling in the pit of my stomach that we are going to be lumbered with 5 more years of Tory rule. Please let it not be so.

I didn't write anything of the sort. As a northerner, and as someone who has discussed this with other Northerners, I said what I thought we should do, and then I said how I felt. It's ok that you disagree!

Not all Northerners are me. Not all people are the same. If they were, I would have need of politics? I could just tell myself how to go on, maybe in an enormous booming voice while pounding a gigantic staff upon the earth.

SELF, PAY THYSELF A LIVING WAGE, YEA VERILY

Mumzy · 08/05/2015 08:31

10 years ago the SNP was where UKIP is now I think they are going to be the main challengers to Northern Labour seats in 5 years time. If NF stands down UKIP will be a much more credible party under Douglas Carswell

Hillingdon · 08/05/2015 08:31

Some are claiming that Labour lost because their voters didn't vote. Says it all really. How on earth do you expect your party to get in if you cannot be bothered to vote. And those people who say they don't know anyone who votes Tory just sounds desperate.

As though they are hoping it's just a nightmare they will wake up from.

The80sweregreat · 08/05/2015 08:33

He has a great name for Sun headliners.

Fatstacks · 08/05/2015 08:35

Depressed and despondent Sad

I'm all right Jack wins the day.

Cherrybakewell33 · 08/05/2015 08:36

It is a nightmare for the poor and vulnerable who are being targeted. The lack of compassion for those less fortunate astounds me. Could be any one of us one day.

IndosaSamosa · 08/05/2015 08:36

I think so too, Mumzy. (And it's terrifying to me, though you may be in favour IDK.)

But I think it could be headed off, but not with the current privileged professional politician class running the Labour Party. I need a new party!

bottleofbeer · 08/05/2015 08:37

Chandalier. I really think you need to stfu if your got a shred of decency. You've read the very real struggles posters here will face now and you're as good as pissing on them with your smug shit.

I truly wish your chosen government on you.

Indosa, but who?

Chipsahoythere · 08/05/2015 08:40

The people who vote Tory don't consider the poor and the vulnerable who are now up shit creek!
You vote Tory for yourself and those in your position. You don't vote it for the greater good.

See you all in 5 years...

shewept · 08/05/2015 08:40

ind most northerns do not want rid of the south or talk to snp. To suggest this is the souths fault is ridiculous and prejudice

HappyMeerkat · 08/05/2015 08:42

people who think Tory = "all right jack" "as long as we're ok" make my mind boggle.

as if every labour voter decided they would be a knight in shining armour and casting a labour vote is condemning them to a worst life for the poor. (whilst some do) most will have voted labour as they thought it was the right choice for themselves or their families as a major factor as well as most of the rest of the country. same as Tory voters

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 08/05/2015 08:42

Remember, the higher you are, the longer the fall. Karma happens.

Things change and you might need what gets cut, where will you be then.

penisland · 08/05/2015 08:44

Cactus I'm hardly a troll, why would you find it so difficult to understand people voting for the party that is going to be best for their family? My family is far more important to me than anyone else so I'm hardly going to vote for a party that will make them worse off!

penisland · 08/05/2015 08:45

Karma happens

No, it really doesn't. There's no such thing.

BigSpottyCupofTea · 08/05/2015 08:46

Yes, on the road, I feel like you. Have cried this morning for all the people who haven't got fortune on their side. We had to decide whether to end a pregnancy five years ago because we found out our son was going to be very disabled. One of the reasons we did is because we didn't believe there would be any social care left by the time he was old enough to need it/ if something happened to us and he needed that care. Turns out we were right.

Hillingdon · 08/05/2015 08:46

Chips - what a silly thing to say. If that was the case there would be NO welfare state at all. You would have to support yourself totally. There are some countries like that.

duplodon · 08/05/2015 08:47

Penisland. What an apt moniker.

Chipsahoythere · 08/05/2015 08:48

Oh.
I must be wrong.

Then Tory voters must think of others, but must think that use of food banks is acceptable.

BeyondDoesBootcamp · 08/05/2015 08:48

Me too. Got a few hours sleep but have had to cancel my hospital appt as i am still mid anxiety attack. On top of all the usual daily shit. But yay, "i'm alright jack" Angry

Sickoffrozen · 08/05/2015 08:49

If you thought it was bad under a Tory coalition, it's about to get worse! I would be seriously worried if working in the public sector. At least the lib dems reigned them in a bit!

duplodon · 08/05/2015 08:50

It's called common humanity, Penisland. We-first instead of me-first. I despair. A stroke of chance and you might need the services you think are pissing your money up the wall.

Cherrybakewell33 · 08/05/2015 08:52

Humanity is missing from this government and some of its supporters.

DoraGora · 08/05/2015 08:52

I'm alright, Jack? Jack's a non dom. Hell, he's not even in the country.
