I have a sicky feeling in the pit of my stomach that we are going to be lumbered with 5 more years of Tory rule. Please let it not be so.

UKIP loses Rochester. Never been so pleased to see a conservative win.

coffeecakeandgin · 08/05/2015 08:18

OP... there must be a hell of a lot of 'twisted folk' in this country then, according to you!

Those that say they don't know anyone who voted Tory, I find that strange. I know many who did right across the board. I was chatting to someone yesterday who hasn't got a pot to piss in, voted conservative because he can see the bigger picture and wants a safe economy and not a spend spend spend mentality as Labour had during its last term. Tony Blair did a lot of damage and EdM didn't have a hope.

Just heard Ed Balls has lost his seat. Best news EVER.

OnTheRoadToLTB · 08/05/2015 08:18

AIBU (and overly dramatic) to suggest that the suicide rate in the next 5 years is going to rise considerably? And that most deaths will be concentrated within the disabled and financially worse off.

I am literally close to tears. What a cruel right wing country we now live in.

Does anyone feel as sad as I do?

Prole · 08/05/2015 08:18

Balls loses.... is Yorkshire now a Tory heartland?

The80sweregreat · 08/05/2015 08:18

Ed balls is on.. He is out of work.not by much but enough.

Seeingthebeautyineveryminute · 08/05/2015 08:19

Ed balls is gone. Hells bells. Labour need to regroup.

Has the south thanet seat been declared yet?

Seeingthebeautyineveryminute · 08/05/2015 08:20

Ontheroad there is certainly likely to be a lot of indirect deaths as a result of the harsh policies about to be put in place. It is tragic.

No- apparantly there was a massive turnout and they are still counting..........

Mumzy · 08/05/2015 08:21

I'm a floating voter but can see why Labour lost:
Ed Miliband- like a nice ex poly lecturer
Fiscal competence- unconvincing
Immigration- just letting things continue as they are
Effect of Scottish devolution approved by Tony Blair- thought this would sort out the nationalists

IndosaSamosa · 08/05/2015 08:21

Well, I haven't tarred anyone as racist or called anyone a cunt. I do think that the North would be better off and better represented if it were Southern Scotland. It's not racist to be different. This is the insight of the SNP, right? They've formulated a kind of non-toxic nationalism that I believe would psychologically benefit the North.

I think the Parliamentary Labour Party has betrayed the North and its own foundations.

fixedit · 08/05/2015 08:21

It's the smugness I can't handle.

shewept · 08/05/2015 08:23

indose You assumed northerners want to speak with the snp and everyone who vote Tory must be in the south and no longer want anything to do with them.

You are totally wrong and all counts.

Cherrybakewell33 · 08/05/2015 08:23

Lots of people feel that way ontheroad unfortunately it looks like they didn't vote.

Suicide, NHS deaths, food banks are going to rapidly increase. As long as cammys okay though Smile

The80sweregreat · 08/05/2015 08:23

Fix, the smug look will be around for years to come. As they cut and cut.

shewept · 08/05/2015 08:24

Ed Balls HAS gone

lost by 422. he only won by about 1000 last time. UKIP got a lot more votes than last time too.

penisland · 08/05/2015 08:24

No irony from me. My wife and I both work in banking, our bonuses and pay rises are dictated by the profitability of our employers. The economy and the banking sector will be stronger under the Tories, so it's a no-brainier for us. Just so glad I'm not going to be bent over by Ed so that he and his band of merry cunts can piss my hard earned taxes up the wall. Overjoyed would be an understatement.

applecatchers36 · 08/05/2015 08:25

on the road yes I feel incredibly sad and worried for our country

HappyMeerkat · 08/05/2015 08:26

just a thought, what about no tax for the lowest earners?

Cherrybakewell33 · 08/05/2015 08:27

Rich get richer whilst the poor get poorer and kill themselves. What a lovely place to live.

RaskolnikovsGarret · 08/05/2015 08:27

Devastated here. I fear for the plight of the poor, the disabled etc. The Tories will not care about them. Can't believe how they got in.

fiveacres · 08/05/2015 08:27

Depends how they define lowest earners. I'd support this.

JamNan · 08/05/2015 08:28

Indosa,
Plenty of us down south have done very badly because of austerity, lack of jobs and low wages.

JamNan · 08/05/2015 08:29

Ed Balls has lost

BeyondDoesBootcamp · 08/05/2015 08:29

First they came for the socialists...
