I have a sicky feeling in the pit of my stomach that we are going to be lumbered with 5 more years of Tory rule. Please let it not be so.

And as for learning a trade to support yourself through life, fat chance of that when apprenticeships work out to about £2 an hour. Unless you live with your parents until you finish college and possibly uni and maybe even until you can buy a house, that's not a viable choice for a hell of a lot of people.

BigSpottyCupofTea · 08/05/2015 07:21

It seems like the difference is those who vote for what's best for themselves only vs what's best for everyone as a collective group. I just cannot get over the I'm alright jack-ness of it.

fixedit · 08/05/2015 07:24

Ah get used to that because that's the attitude of the next 5 years. Oh we're ok because it doesn't affect us.

Dawndonnaagain · 08/05/2015 07:24

I feel sick. That's all. I went to bed convinced the exit poll was wrong.
Angry Sad

shewept · 08/05/2015 07:24

muddy did Andrea what's her face win?

Kids have taken the tv over.

Tbh not many of ed balls constituents are happy with. Nothing to do with media. I am in the next seat over and most friends live there. He isn't popular anymore

penisland · 08/05/2015 07:24

Such great news. Hoping that they can just squeeze a majority and not have to be watered down by the Lib Dems for the next 5 years. We can look forward to a strong economy and hopefully Dave's promise for an EU referendum. For those of us in financial services it means the likelihood of growth, bonus and pay rises. A Conservative government really is the best thing for my family.

From another forum...

To worry I'm going to get seriously depressed as the night goes on
Muddymits · 08/05/2015 07:24

I think the SNP were damaging too, and that labour should have concentrated more on their valid economic plans.
So now we have back a party whose worse policies were halted by the lib dems who will now assault schools, the nhs and the vulnerable so the gap between rich and poor that has grown this past five years becomes more and more entrenched. More food banks, more policies driven ideologically whilst pretending to be economic necessities and God I am depressed today.

fixedit · 08/05/2015 07:24

Grin Penisland.

Hakluyt · 08/05/2015 07:25

Well, at least if Ed Balls goes, Yvette Cooper can stand for Leader without him getting in the way.......

Cherrybakewell33 · 08/05/2015 07:25

littlemonster nobody's naive enough to say that everyone on benefits dont have a choice. of course there are people who abuse the system but these people are in the minority. The majority of people on benefits are in genuine need and they are being penalised because of a small amount of people abuse the system.

JamNan · 08/05/2015 07:25

Tories will just slash everything with glee now. NHS will be destroyed, working benefits cut, council/social housing flogged off to the highest bidder.... etc etc

With you on that eyebags.

God help us if we come out of the EU.

BigSpottyCupofTea · 08/05/2015 07:26

Oh and confirmation on the beeb that Osborne to stay as chancellor. Better start looking at private healthcare cover then. Jesus.

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 08/05/2015 07:26

Congrats Penis so glad that your family will be fine.

Hillingdon · 08/05/2015 07:27

Fixed it. Plenty of reasons why someone feels they cannot do something. Which is where benefits come in. People are over relying on them. My 17 yr old got a summer job last year by mail shoting local companies. He has no experience. He does now. They will take him back again this year. Why is that I wonder.

A young lad started one day and walked out that evening saying he couldnt get his head around the role...

Muddymits · 08/05/2015 07:28

Yeah Andrea Jenkins

The80sweregreat · 08/05/2015 07:29

I hope Penis was being ironic? The one i feel sorry for is Clegg. At least a lib dem / tory mash up would be better than this. Our nhs is in trouble.

Muddy Her leaflets would have been funny if it wasn't such a serious issue.

I am surprised she got in. But I think people were desperate to get Ed out.

ElectraCute · 08/05/2015 07:31

Devastated.

Cannot believe that my country has done this to its poorest and most vulnerable. Cannot believe that so many have fallen for Murdoch's lies and smears.

I sincerely hope that those of you who voted Tory stay in perfect health and keep your jobs. I hope you always have good luck. I hope life never happens to you.

Cherrybakewell33 · 08/05/2015 07:31

I live in a council house, mainly due to the insane lack of private housing in my area. I think the selling off the council housing is a terrible idea. I would be never buy mine.

The80sweregreat · 08/05/2015 07:32

The tories like selling off things. nhs next, private schools, ( run as businesses) council stock ( whats left) its what they do.

Prole · 08/05/2015 07:32

Penisland - The economy is very strong in 'financial services' what with all that bailout and QE money. Free Market?

What does the CBI feel about a EU referendum?

Perhaps it feels like those happy heady days of the 80s. Yuppies and riots.

eyebags63 · 08/05/2015 07:32

Whocansay
If Clegg had any respect for Lib Dem voters or his party he would have stood down prior to the election, giving the Lib Dems a chance to retain some seats. He MUST have known how toxic he personally is to the Lib Dem brand.

The80sweregreat · 08/05/2015 07:33

Ekectra, well said. I feel like crying. I lived through 18 years of the tories, looks like its gonna happen again.
