I have a sicky feeling in the pit of my stomach that we are going to be lumbered with 5 more years of Tory rule. Please let it not be so.

I woke up and couldn't go back to sleep.

Even more depressed now. Wondering what is in my/our future.

HappyMeerkat · 08/05/2015 05:08

winsomewitch no but they are saying it is possible they could get a majority as Labour don't seem to be getting the marginal seats they would be expected to

Janus · 08/05/2015 05:10

Do you know who has the strongest economy in the WHOLE world, the European Union, above USA. So good luck to us when David Cameron takes us out of the European Union, we will be fucked.

Prole · 08/05/2015 05:11

Tories appearing to be headed for a majority but not an overall one.

Clegg and Miliband likely to resign leaderships tomorrow.

winsomewitch · 08/05/2015 05:16

I wish i hadnt asked now.

Could Labour still creep in if they join up with another party?

Someone give me hope!

Sallystyle · 08/05/2015 05:17

No hope.

HappyMeerkat · 08/05/2015 05:18

the way i understand it they would only be a couple of seats away so it would take a coalition of basically every party to do so. it all depends if the Conservative live up to at least the exit polls

Hillingdon · 08/05/2015 05:19

Why the result in Scotland? Do they really think of Scotland and stuff the rest. Really interested tbh.

Labour have ignored the issue on immigration. They said they didn't over spend, they were going to finish off ambition and scare off wealthy people. The politics of envy.

Prole · 08/05/2015 05:26

winsomewitch - at this point if Labour, SNP and LD joined forces they would still have around 20 lessMPs than the Tories. Sorry I can't give you hope. It's shit. Very shit

Prole · 08/05/2015 05:28

Labour, SNP, LD, PC and Green all together would have a hope... best I can offer.

Hillingdon · 08/05/2015 05:31

Prole, are we the only ones around? God, Ed Balls might lose his seat. Hope so, he is useless.
Poor Ed, I think he will go now. Feel a bit sorry for him, need to pull myself together!

Mrsstarlord · 08/05/2015 05:31

This is depressing, particularly as if I understand correctly they will have to form a coalition. The only party who have said that they're willing to do this are UKIP.

Prole · 08/05/2015 05:34

Hillingdon - what benefit to NOT scaring off the wealthy? Trickle down's a proven myth. They don't contribute an equitable level of tax. They DO create an upwards distortion to GDP which is always handy political capital...

What's ambition got to do with it?

PurpleDaisies · 08/05/2015 05:35

Ukip are only going to have two or three MPs so they won't bother with a coalition with them. It looks like the Tories will get enough seats to have a minority government. I think we will miss the lib dems.

Cherrybakewell33 · 08/05/2015 05:40

I've lost all hope now. what a truly depressing result. Dont think I can go back to sleep now!

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 08/05/2015 05:41

I'm depressed for you all. I might not live there any more but it's fucking tragic, and I have lots of friends and family who will be adversely affected if that shower of shitheads gets in.

I'm watching it via this www.theguardian.com/politics/ng-interactive/2015/may/07/live-uk-election-results-in-full and it's making me more and more fed up - HOW can people be so short sighted? It's strongly reminding me of the 1992 election, when I cried with anger and frustration. I was so sure that the bastards couldn't possibly get in again, and they did.

The80sweregreat · 08/05/2015 05:45

Politics is brutal business. My prediction is Clegg and Milliband to step down today. DC has never won a election, yet he will be our PM it seems. It makes no sense to me.

Prole · 08/05/2015 05:48

On a vaguely positive note, Clegg, Miliband and likely Farage are history.

PlummyBrummy · 08/05/2015 05:48

Rupert Murdoch is the big winner here tonight. I fear Leveson will never be implemented.

BigSpottyCupofTea · 08/05/2015 05:48

Just woken up to the results and seriously thinking about moving country. I genuinely don't understand how/ why people vote Tory.....have they never met anyone who's needed any help ever. What the hell are they going to do the NHS? Chances of ever being able to have a secure home is gone. Chances of fairness gone. I honestly don't understand why you'd do this.

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 08/05/2015 05:49

But, and I say this out of frustration, who is going to replace them? Clegg and Milliband, I mean, couldn't care less about ol' Garbage.

Cherrybakewell33 · 08/05/2015 05:49

I see we have voted in our invisible conservative candidate in who nobody has ever seen or heard of. Yay fab news, not! and by quite a margin too, not sure why I even bothered to vote!

Hillingdon · 08/05/2015 05:57

Could be a Conservative government only? No one saw that coming. Maybe he will need a few seats but that is doable.

What were all those previous polls? A complete waste of time?

Prole · 08/05/2015 05:58

Clegg and Miliband are definitely resigning... the quiet word to journos is already out. My prediction: Cameron does not last until the next election. The SNP promised to vote against the Queen's Speech in the event of a Tory win - if enough Lab/LD/PC join in..well he's in shit. It wouldn't take any kind for formal coalition for this kind of vote.

The Govenment is technically formed not from the most MPs but from whichever party has "the confidence of the house".

It's not more unlikely than most of tonight...

Trooperslane · 08/05/2015 06:02

Woken up to all this bad, bad news ??
