I have a sicky feeling in the pit of my stomach that we are going to be lumbered with 5 more years of Tory rule. Please let it not be so.

I know someone who is on dialysis, who is being forced to find work. He has no chance in find any work.

fixedit · 08/05/2015 02:25

Didn't you know beyond that plunging people into poverty will encourage them to not be disabled anymore and find work Wink

amarone · 08/05/2015 02:25

This election is not about individual needs. It's about the needs of the country. A United Kingdom hopefully.

fixedit · 08/05/2015 02:27

What's everyone think of the results so far, do Labour stand a chance?

Fixed - or, y'know, starve and die. Nothing reduces benefit money like a load of scroungers dying.

BeyondDoesBootcamp · 08/05/2015 02:31

Anyway, i'd better get some sleep. Have one of my many (wonder if my forced job will give me time off?) hospital appts in the morning. Better take my chequebook, goodbye nhs.

fixedit · 08/05/2015 02:32

goodnight beyond. I should too but I'm wired.

cluecu · 08/05/2015 02:53

Next election will be Labour or a coalition. We always swing between the two but the other parties are starting to influence. this election is a stepping stone.

good Lord the snp Hmm

worriedmum100 · 08/05/2015 03:01

I'm a bit tired so forgive me if this is a stupid question but I can't get my head around the swing from libdem to tory. Why oh why if you were a previous libdem voter and felt you couldn't support them this time because of their role in the coalition would you switch to the tories?! Why not labour?

Sixweekstowait · 08/05/2015 03:09

I'm tired too so this is probably a rubbish answer but I think a lot of these people switching voted Tory before 2010. Also I think Labour have won a seat from libdems and may win a few more

worriedmum100 · 08/05/2015 03:15

Ok thank you for the response given the hour! So the libdems basically haemorrhage in both directions. V sad.

LineRunner · 08/05/2015 03:18

And the Lib Dems have lost the significant student vote they courted in 2010.

cluecu · 08/05/2015 03:23

Yes and traditionally I understand lib dems as middle ground with Tories to the right. So it's common for people to interchange between the two Confused

queensansastark · 08/05/2015 03:24

I feel that LDs are out of touch with immigration, Europe and need for tougher terrorism laws.

worriedmum100 · 08/05/2015 03:25

Until the coalition I'd have said that libdems were considerably to the left of the tories. That's why I'm confused as I thought that a more natural switch for a disallusioned libdem would be to labour.

HappyMeerkat · 08/05/2015 03:28

i could be wrong but i think part of the thinking of conservative voters is that if more people get jobs, or benefits are taken or restricted for those that maybe are abusing the system, there will be more money through taxes and the cuts to re allocate this money to those that are disabled and those that really do need the extra help?

HappyMeerkat · 08/05/2015 03:32

and just re reading that may have seemed a bit condescending (for want of a better word) but it was a sincere train of thought

cluecu · 08/05/2015 03:35

Under the coalition the libs were left. in fact I voted for them as they were more left than Labour at the time.

then I decided I can't be faffed with the whims. so I. voting with my ideals.

Lib dems took a risk in 2010 and lost but depending on tonight they might have some contribution but much reduced.

And Boris gets to remain Mayor for another year. Doesn't seem right.

FriendofBill · 08/05/2015 04:49

Really sad to wake up to this...can't believe people have bought the Tory BS.

Prole · 08/05/2015 04:52

When did returning officers stop using candidates' full names? Always got a small amount of election night entertainment from more peculiar middle names.

winsomewitch · 08/05/2015 05:01

Have the Tories won?
I dont dare turn the TV on, i'm determined to get DS back to sleep but have just seen the Dailymail headline and cant make sense of it Confused
