It's just a gut feeling that the nation(s) won't vote as predicted.

If that is the end result I am gutted.

londonrach · 07/05/2015 22:12

Peltata i thought so too. Im sure they just moved....

peltata · 07/05/2015 22:13

Nicola Sturgeon would make a great double agent Grin

TalkinPeace · 07/05/2015 22:14

that SNP number is awful for the 56 million of us who have to put up with them without any control

peltata · 07/05/2015 22:14

I'm sure the DC model winked

LateNightFury · 07/05/2015 22:14

One night, I know. I was just messing about :)

Bunnyjo · 07/05/2015 22:15

If the exit poll is indicative of the actual result, then I do think that - as much as many true Labour supporters will disagree - that they made a mistake in the leadership election of 2010.

If the result is true, I think that the Conservatives could try to go it alone...

Apatite1 · 07/05/2015 22:15

Ed is an idiot to have refused help from Nicola. He shot himself in the foot.

tilliebob · 07/05/2015 22:16

If those polls are true we're fucked aren't we off to book valuations for our house

peltata · 07/05/2015 22:17

I think DC will move very quickly with English votes for England to keep the SNP at arms length

woah, was not expecting that exit poll!

Love Paddy Ashdown volunteering to eat his hat though!

Where is the all night discussion thread? Is it this one?

StatisticallyChallenged · 07/05/2015 22:18

I think Nicola Sturgeon has come across a lot better in this campaign than she did pre-referendum. She seems a lot, I don't know, calmer and more states(wo)man like perhaps? Less angry and shouty in general. Maybe because this election isn't specifically about independence so isn't quite as fraught?

Certainly some of the GE debates seemed a world apart from the lovely indyref one between her and Johann Lamont where the pair of them screeched at each other and were "astonished" at everything!

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 07/05/2015 22:21

I love those Sunderland people running around with the votes. Wasn't it one year that Tower Hamlets took over a week to count theirs? That was also brilliant. Sorry, slightly off topic I know

squoosh · 07/05/2015 22:22

She's had a lot of media training since she and Lamont were shrieking like fishwives at one another a few months ago.

flippinada · 07/05/2015 22:25

Yeah, I think Sunderland South (?) likes to be the first to declare. Apparently Newcastle Central are also in the running. Mackems vs Geordies for first to declare, should be interesting.

anothermakesthree · 07/05/2015 22:25

It's an exit poll based on 22000, don't despair yet ??. They have been wrong before.

StatisticallyChallenged · 07/05/2015 22:25

Funny that's exactly how I described it at the time too squoosh!

wowfudge · 07/05/2015 22:26

Sickoffrozen - I have just had the very same conversation over the phone with DP.

I think Paddy's probably right about some of the extremes of the exit poll.

worksallhours · 07/05/2015 22:29

I love Sunderland for their thing about being first to declare. Grin

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 07/05/2015 22:30

Perhaps a certain type of person answers the exit poll? I was asked and I said I wasn't going to say. Perhaps I'm missing something but I don't see the point in a secret vote if you then tell a random outside the hall and show them your polling card with your name and address on?

OneNight · 07/05/2015 22:31

I just don't believe that exit poll because so many of the constituencies are finely balanced. I don't think that the Liberals will have done quite so badly or the SNP quite so well. I'm uncertain about the Tory figures because I have no feel for UKIP influence on the ground. Much is still to play for.

In the meantime, I have now opened the hard liquor and I doubt sincerely if I will manage to last even until the three results I particularly want to see announced. I hope that you will all sympathetically ignore any drunken ramblings later on in the night.

Hillingdon · 07/05/2015 22:33

The pound is going up because of the exit polls!!!

OneNight · 07/05/2015 22:34

My experience of that AbbeyRoadCrossing was that I was jumped on with what appeared to be great authority by people who didn't say who they were and who asked for my polling card as well. (That was in an inner city constituency some years back.) I told them to take a hike but I imagine that many people would not have.

Bodyinpyjamas10 · 07/05/2015 22:35

peltata agree 100% with you. Dave will move to try and fight off Nicola.

Ooh nasty word picture. Grin
