To ask you to look at this before you decide to vote the same MP in

www.theyworkforyou.com

It allows you to see what your MP (before they dissolved) voted for and against, who their donors are, what they said, what they did and their expenses.

Worth looking at if you're thinking of voting the same person in and they're a knob or thinking about not voting for them and they're actually alright.

i'd already decided, but looking at my MP's record, totally satisfied i'd made the right choice

he works very hard for his constituents, and is a very fair representative of my views

bet there aren't many who can say that Grin

MrsTerryPratchett · 06/05/2015 18:32

It's very difficult when you have a great MP from a terrible party. Sad

Chrysanthemum5 · 06/05/2015 18:33

Jenny - I can! Thanks for the link OP it shows my MP voted as he said he would when he was campaigning.

kinkyfuckery · 06/05/2015 18:39

I was happy with my choice, and that still stands having read that Grin

JazzAnnNonMouse · 06/05/2015 18:41

I think this is great - really
Shows what each mp has done/how they voted

Thanks for that made very interesting reading and has made me certain who won't be getting my vote tmrw

JazzAnnNonMouse · 06/05/2015 18:59

It's quite fascinating insight really!

ShockConfusedAngryShockConfusedAngryShockConfusedAngry

No, I'm not voting for him Grin.

SquareStarfish · 06/05/2015 19:04

Oh dear. My mp is a dick Confused
In the last 48 hours I've seriously considered switching my vote for the first time ever Shock

ShouldIworryornothelp · 06/05/2015 19:05

My MP is shit. I know this. That site proved it Grin

ValancyJane · 06/05/2015 19:12

MrsTerryPratchett I'm in the same boat; our current MP is really good but I don't agree with his party or policies. But he generally does a lot for the constituents.

In the end I decided to vote for the policies I liked rather than him, but it was a tough decision.

Bogeyface · 06/05/2015 19:14

Well I knew I wasnt voting for ours, and looking at that confirmed I was right not to.

He voted against every issue I feel strongly about.

ProbablyMe · 06/05/2015 19:17

I checked mine and I'm happy. He reflects my own views and has a good voting record - ie he actually bothers to turn up and vote on stuff!

CaptainAnkles · 06/05/2015 19:24

My MP voted against equal gay rights and in favour of hunting. So, total tit, basically.

Aliiiii · 06/05/2015 19:24

I knew my MP was a knob, this just confirms it!

PesoPenguin · 06/05/2015 19:45

Wow, I disagree with our MP on pretty much everything! Not that I was planning to vote for him tomorrow, but I'm shocked at some of his views!

ThisFenceIsComfy · 06/05/2015 19:54

Checked mine and yes, I'm totally happy with my choice tomorrow.

Great website

Nonie241419 · 06/05/2015 19:57

Same as Mrs TP, I have a great local MP, but he votes entirely along party lines and I disagree with pretty much everything. I won't be voting for him.

OrangeVase · 06/05/2015 20:59

Same. MP who works hard for the constituency, is local, cares about the area, is very visible, campaigns for local issues BUT is a member of a party I have never voted for. I so hate this system.

Don't agree with him when he votes with his party - but he doesn't always. And sometimes I do agree with how he votes.
Still haven't decided. It is a tight-ish seat so it does matter.

JazzAnnNonMouse · 06/05/2015 21:00

It's great isn't it!
It allows you to search for other mps too not just the one in your constituency.
My grandparents conservative mp voted more harshly right than Cameron Confused !!

OP posts:
Aermingers · 06/05/2015 21:06

Apparently my MPs special interest is Burma. Which is not anywhere near his constituency. In fact I can't see any of his interests are local issues.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 06/05/2015 21:10

Brilliant, OP. After looking up mine, I'm about to waste ages looking up my friends/relatives MPs Grin

JazzAnnNonMouse · 06/05/2015 21:13

I also wasted hours looking into relatives mps

OP posts:
cariadlet · 06/05/2015 21:24

What a brilliant site - thanks for posting the link. My MP belongs to a party I hate, so I knew that I'd disagree with most of his voting decisions, but it was interesting to see the details - and a couple of times I was pleasantly surprised to see how he'd voted.

He's retiring this year so doesn't make a lot of difference to my vote, but still an interesting read. Might have a browse through other mps' records when I've got a bit of time.

Wellwellwell3holesintheground · 06/05/2015 21:54

Really shocked to see that mine has voted strongly for something she is campaigning as being against.
