To think changing your tampon in a gym change room is a bit foul?

I was at the gym earlier today, getting changed after my shower in the change room while chatting to a friend. A woman came out of the showers wrapped in her towel. Before my friend and I knew what was happening, she had whipped out her tampon and put it in the bin!

Don't pm me with who the actress is.Couldn't care less!

Menstrual blood smells when in contact with air.Used tampon in open bin is filthy and smelly. That is why there are proper sanitary disposal bins with companies who come and empty them -because it is not seen as usual wastepaper basket contents.

It might be very right-on and free spirited to do this for the woman involved, but its something most people don't do for both practical and societal reasons.

Like a pp said -we don't whip our tampons out on the high street.
This woman was showing off.

Please pm me dame Smile

BeyondDoesBootcamp · 06/05/2015 07:57

Weirdly, i am totally unbothered with her putting a new one in, more so with taking the bloody one out. I think it may have something to do with always seeing my mum put them in growing up, so that is a non-thing to me.

Whereas i've only seen my own taken out and (tmi) normally not just a slightly red, expanded tampon, but all the gunk hanging onto it. I wouldnt change in a changing room as i'd be paranoid that gunk would drop on the floor!!

We were walking through the park at Blenheim Palace the other day, and there was a used tampon on the grass beside a bench in the garden. My husband noticed it first.

nannyj · 06/05/2015 08:00

Can I have a pm too please.

Baaaaaaaaaaaa · 06/05/2015 09:08

2nd time of asking, cos nobody likes me Sad may I PLEASE have a pm - off anybody - pretty, pretty please? Smile

EuphemiaCoxton · 06/05/2015 09:19

It is gross. Particularly if there's nowhere to wash your hands afterwards.

SOMEONE PM ME I NEED TO KNOW THE ACTRESS!!!

I'm guessing it wasn't Gwyneth. So my money's on kate Winslet or Emma Thompson. I will be Shock if it's keira knightley

SomewhereIBelong · 06/05/2015 09:26

Were there any 10 year old boys in the changing room?

according to MN there usually are.....

Baaaaaaaaaaaa · 06/05/2015 09:38

Thank you for the pm, , very kind of you Smile

SuperFlyHigh · 06/05/2015 10:03

I haven't had this happen yet but have had someone rinse their dirty Mooncup in the sink where you wash your hands.... at work.... maybe I'm being oversensitive but boak and surely you'd take that home in a plastic bag?!

I have had period blood on toilet seat at work (another company) and big red trails of it... so much so that I posted about it on here...

I think tampon removal/application in public smacks of something - I'd be tempted to say "do you mind?!" or "dirty bitch!" (no wouldn't say the other!). Even a clean one in a clean vagina is still yuck and changing of sanpro anywhere but a toilet or changing room with door is totally unacceptable. I'd mention it to the reception staff.

Chuckitinthefuckitbucket · 06/05/2015 10:04
Hmm Too far
LaCerbiatta · 06/05/2015 10:06

Is it too late for a PM? Pretty please? :)

SuperFlyHigh · 06/05/2015 10:09

Oh no - I mean a colleague has left trails of period blood not me!

Totality22 · 06/05/2015 10:10

Dame didn't say she would PM the actress???? Me thinks you need to go back and read what was said ladies!

DollopTheTrollop · 06/05/2015 10:14

Themrmen · 06/05/2015 11:50

BigRedBall · 06/05/2015 12:07

I may aswell jump on the bandwagon and ask for the PM. Is it HBC? She looks like a scruffy one.

Mrsstarlord · 06/05/2015 12:15

No pm yet - Baaa. Can you share?

SuchSweetSorrow · 06/05/2015 12:15

Can I have a pm please as well Grin

Totality22 · 06/05/2015 12:31

Dame didn't say she would PM posters.
Sorry but this thread has now turned into nothing more than a request for PM's.

Please go back to page 2 and see what Dame actually said...

Totality22 · 06/05/2015 12:34

Dame posted at 21:13 yesterday (page 2 or 3 depending if you're on phone or laptop)

Number3cometome · 06/05/2015 12:46

Was it that Helena Bonham woman?

She has greasy hair sometimes.

PM me someone!

And eww, no one in my gym does that!

FreudiansSlipper · 06/05/2015 12:53

I once saw a guy and a girl having a screaming match after getting off the night bus back to uni halls. She whipped out her tampon and threw it at him (she was wearing a skirt). It missed. And landed with a splat quite near me!

whois that is revolting Shock

It is a lack of respect for other people and social boundaries why would anyone think others would want to see them change a tampon. Yes we have been conditioned somewhat to believe that periods are dirty and smelly but that is not the reason why most would find this situation uncomfortable. I do not wish to see someone's used tampon some things are acceptable to do in public and others are not, this changes but I can never see this being considered an ok thing to do

Yarp · 06/05/2015 12:54

Bogey

It's an interesting discussion. I do see what you mean

But it's two things, for me:

Blood (possibly smelly/unhygienic - also people don't generally display their blood - it's more of an accidental thing - many people have blood phobias)
Social norm of not touching one's sexual organs in public

Yarp · 06/05/2015 12:55

whois

Interesting - the message their is one of complete disdain - like spitting on someone
