To think changing your tampon in a gym change room is a bit foul?

I was at the gym earlier today, getting changed after my shower in the change room while chatting to a friend. A woman came out of the showers wrapped in her towel. Before my friend and I knew what was happening, she had whipped out her tampon and put it in the bin!

Name and shame, Dame.
or at least PM me.

Bakeoffcake · 05/05/2015 20:58

Wtf? That is vile.

Sansarya · 05/05/2015 20:58

C'mon Dame, you can't just leave us hanging. At least give us a clue!

Perhaps she just had a moment of complete absent-mindedness and forgot that she was in public for a moment?

measles64 · 05/05/2015 20:59

I remember someone telling me that they found sanitary towel in soiled knickers in a bin bag handed into a charity shop. Did not think it could get worse than that.

Bogeyface · 05/05/2015 20:59

Logically I cant think why this is vile, disgusting, foul or any of the other words mentioned. Its just disposing of a natural bodily waste product such as blowing your nose and putting the tissue in the bin. Why should it be confined to the loo? Its not like we dont all know about it!

I personally find someone having a go old blow far more revolting, it makes me gag.

That said, I would be thinking "Oh blimey! Bit much!" if I saw it, but as I say, I dont know why because I cant find a decent reason to explain why she shouldnt apart from the "Ewww" factor.

Totality22 · 05/05/2015 20:59

Hmmm.... not sure who I think. Had it not been 'movie star' I'd have gone for Rhianna she seems the type!!!

Bogeyface · 05/05/2015 21:00

I reckon it was "The Queen" Wink, she strikes me as the sort that would do that!

Totality22 · 05/05/2015 21:01

So if she had taken a shit on the floor bogey that would have been ok? After all its just bodily waste and we all do it?

Sansarya · 05/05/2015 21:03

I don't know Bogeyface, a bin full of snotty tissues generally doesn't smell but the smell some sanitary bins emit when you open them (especially towards the end of the day when they need emptying) can be a bit much.

Oh yes soiled pants donated to charity shops is quite common. I'm not sure what they imagine we'd sell them for? Charities do get rag money but you can bag that up and write 'rags' on the bag so we don't even have to look at it. Still, I'd wash pants first though!

Bogeyface · 05/05/2015 21:05

Well no because there is no way for it to be disposed of, so obviously thats a ridiculous comparison and one that I fully expected when I wrote my post.

But a tampon is removed and put into the bin wherever you do it and thats what she did. So I cant find a single logical reason why what she did is vile, foul, rank etc apart from the fact that its her menstrual blood, and I wasnt aware that that was rank.

I didnt say I wouldnt be shocked, just that I cant find a single logical reason why I should be. It isnt unhygenic, she didnt smear the walls with it, she didnt shout "OI!!! LOOK AT MY FANNY!!" while she was doing it!

MrsHenryCrawford · 05/05/2015 21:06

Pure mank

Bogeyface · 05/05/2015 21:07

That was to Totality btw

MissOutstanding · 05/05/2015 21:08

We really do need a emoticon!

I used to work in C&A, and we regularly found used sanpro in the changing rooms.

Molotov · 05/05/2015 21:08

Gross! Although nice for her in a way; must be nice to be so free and uninhibited be convention/social decency.

C'mon then, who is the actress?

Hottypotty · 05/05/2015 21:08

Oh people are just generally grim-I used to work at a swimming pool and would regularly (like, daily) find used tampons hanging on the changing room doors.

magoria · 05/05/2015 21:09

They all seem to shave in mine. Their bikini area not just armpits or legs.

ThatBloodyWoman · 05/05/2015 21:09

Its on par with pooing on the floor or in the bin imo.
Worse than bogey eating, farting,or crutch scratching.
Just to cover all eventualities...

Molotov · 05/05/2015 21:10

Hanging over the doors?! WTF?!

SocialMediaAddict · 05/05/2015 21:10

I had this a few years ago! The woman was next to me. Grim!!

cleanmyhouse · 05/05/2015 21:11

I know someone who walked out of a toilet cubicle to be met by her workmate holding her full mooncup.

Molotov · 05/05/2015 21:12

Agree that MN needs a vom emoticon!

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 05/05/2015 21:12

Surely it is more hygienic to do this in the loo, where you can wash your hands afterwards?

Bogeyface · 05/05/2015 21:13

Can someone please tell me why it is wrong though?

She put it in the bin (hanging on a door?!) and didnt make a fuss. Same with the full mooncup woman, why is it wrong?

Our blood isnt dirty, it doesnt make us dirty, yet everyone is going "EWWWWW!!" at the thought of it.

I am not being provocative, I am just interested in why people think it is comparable with pooing on the floor or in a bin!
