Slippers, a faded towelling dressing gown, a scrunchie & big soppy grin.
Like most new mums.

Must be grim having her hair & makeup done.

How very ugly of you. Hmm

Marlinspike · 02/05/2015 18:07

Well I left wearing my naternity leggings that I had been wearing when my waters broke. DH had grabbed the first thing he found... They were quite.... Stiff...

Perhaps Kate will do the same? Smile

alwayshavepeckham · 02/05/2015 18:07

Why? I'm feeling sorry for her having to be camera ready.

AuntieStella · 02/05/2015 18:08

Well, I saw a picture of her last time and she was in white shoes. There's no way I would have worn white (or any pale) on the lover part of my body in the first couple of unpredictable weeks.

MeggyMooAndTinkerToo · 02/05/2015 18:08

I've never seen anyone leaving hospital like that. I had my hair done, make up on and was fully dressed. Then I went to Sainburys on the way home with No 3.

trilbydoll · 02/05/2015 18:09

It's probably not so bad having your hair and face done for you. Doing it yourself would be the last thing you wanted to do!

meglet · 02/05/2015 18:09

It had better not be a pink dress.

AuntieStella · 02/05/2015 18:09

lower ffs

Though I don't think I was ready for a lover in the immediate post natal period either.

meditrina · 02/05/2015 18:10

Staff beginning to move to positions outside the building. So won't be long now.

RedCrayons · 02/05/2015 18:10

I feel a bit sorry for her. She probably just wants to get home but she's got to get her hair and make up done.

GlitzAndGigglesx · 02/05/2015 18:10

I left wearing all black with my hair scraped up and a long top to cover my maternity pad which looked like I was in a nappy. I was too tired and overwhelmed to bother with make up

googoodolly · 02/05/2015 18:10

I think it must actually be quite nice to be able to have a shower and have a bit of a pamper afterwards.

CoperCabana · 02/05/2015 18:11

Well good for you MeggyMoo. I think the hair scraped back, make up free, trackie bums and crocs is more the norm in mine and my friends experience. You are lucky if you felt different. Kate doesn't have a choice which is where op is coming from.

ParkingFred · 02/05/2015 18:11

Does anyone leave hospital in a dressing gown and slippers?

I suspect she'll look glam.

AuntieStella · 02/05/2015 18:11

Cream/pale yellow dress.

CoperCabana · 02/05/2015 18:12

Actually, she does have a choice but the world will never let her forget if she doesn't come out looking glossy!

AuntyMag10 · 02/05/2015 18:13

You're assuming people want to look frumpy.

RedCrayons · 02/05/2015 18:14

She must be freezing.

PastPerfect · 02/05/2015 18:14

I don't envy her either.

I left presentable - makeup on but mostly due to going in with a full face and leaving 4.5 hours after I arrived - didn't have time to work up a sweat Grin

Having to have a full on blow dry and face put on is a bit different.

noddyholder · 02/05/2015 18:14

I can't believe anyone is interested

KingJoffreyFanciesDarylDixon · 02/05/2015 18:14

I once left hospital in pyjamas and slippers.

Was after hand surgery though, not childbirth.

CoperCabana · 02/05/2015 18:15

Who is assuming people want to look frumpy? For many women, baggy clothes are the comfy option and make up is the last thing on their minds. No make up and baggy clothes does not equal frumpy. Frumpy for me is dressing like your mum.

RedCrayons · 02/05/2015 18:15

I would have refused to move out of the front door in case the rain droplets touched my pfb.

fridayfreedom · 02/05/2015 18:16

White/cream skirt after giving birth.......really?

AuntieStella · 02/05/2015 18:16

I thought the assumption was that appearance isn't top priority isn't appearance in the first few hours after childbirth.

And appearance in front of the world's cameras is a world away from typical pix for a family album.

Brave, I think, to be wearing something that pale. I wore navy maternity leggings, and was glad they were dark when a I had a gush.
