Slippers, a faded towelling dressing gown, a scrunchie & big soppy grin.
Like most new mums.

Must be grim having her hair & makeup done.

Well she's out- the frock was yellow and white and she looked fabulous.

squoosh · 02/05/2015 18:40

She looked perfectly happy, my sympathy radar did not beep once.

Sparklingbrook · 02/05/2015 18:41

She looked lovely. If she had chosen to nip out of the back door I wouldn't have blamed her though, bet that was the last thing she wanted to do.

Although as I have said all along a home birth in Norfolk and produce a photo a week later would have been way more sensible/practical.

To be fair, I don't do much without makeup on so I had my face on for leaving hospital. Iirc I left my make up bag in the bathroom on the ward and had to send dh back up for it Grin

MrSlant · 02/05/2015 18:44

You know what I wasn't even sure she was having a baby until this time last week but I just sat down and watched the footage of her leaving hospital with two of my sons and we were all entranced. She looked beautiful and relaxed and happy as did the baby, how lovely to have a happy news story this week after all the awful things happening around the globe. I looked bloody awesome after I'd had DS2 miraculously, when I went to the GP with him and his toddler brother a couple of weeks later he asked if I was the au-pair. I preened and it made me feel good. I bet it makes her feel amazing to be clean and nicely dressed with lovely hair and everyone cheering. She'll be home now with a cup of tea and her gorgeous children hopefully putting her feet up and being treated like a princess which is what I would wish for every woman.

Can't be doing with all this angst!

dingit · 02/05/2015 18:45

Bless her. Whatever she wore someone would have criticised. If I knew the eyes of the world would be on me, and appearing in photographs everywhere, I would have wanted a complete pampering session too. Hopefully she can go home and put her jimjams on and cuddle her new baby in peace.

hideandseekpig · 02/05/2015 18:46

She looked lovely but I'm a little Confused and Envy ...I was bleeding so much when I left the hospital after having dd that I would not have dared to wear a dress or anything pale....how has she managed it?! And ok William helped her down the steps but I could barely walk out of the hospital I was clinging onto my dh like crazy.

She just looks so elegant I mean I know she has a team to do her hair and make up but did she not worry about pale yellow??

MrsGentlyBenevolent · 02/05/2015 18:47

I feel a bit sorry for Kate, although she must of known being the 'new Diana' was all she was going to become, once she had the (same) ring on her finger. Just read an article online, discussing what shawl the baby was wearing, how she was probably going to become a fashion icon like her mum. A few hours old and all she is thought to become is a fashion parade. I though this place would be better than to pass judgment on what the woman is or isn't wearing, bad enough she has a freaky fan base and the world press waiting like vultures outside the hospital.

Sansarya · 02/05/2015 18:48

Also she was wearing tights. Tights! That's the last thing I would've wanted to don after giving birth to an eight pounder.

Bonsoir · 02/05/2015 18:48

I didn't leave hospital wearing a toweling dressing gown and slippers! Nor did I see any other new mothers exiting hospital other than washed and dressed.

Pfff...

Bakeoffcake · 02/05/2015 18:48

I hope she's at home now with her PJs on.

measles64 · 02/05/2015 18:50

Am I the only one who felt for the people who had waited two weeks outside to see the baby and felt they were a little cheated. OK I know William hates the media that is soooooo obvious, but the people who are his families subjects were out there supporting them through all the bad weather. I just felt he was a little ungracious.

Sparklingbrook · 02/05/2015 18:52

I would have liked to have been beamed home from hospital Star Trek stylee. Grin I could not wait to get home, and I can't actually remember what I wore either time. Guessing not a Jenny Packham dress, tights and nude heels though.

squoosh · 02/05/2015 18:52

I'd be more inclined to give those people restraining orders. Loons.

ComposHatComesBack · 02/05/2015 18:54

We are citizens not subjects.

More fool the silly twats who stood outside for a fortnigh. No one made them do it.

Sparklingbrook · 02/05/2015 18:54

I thought that Kate & Wills had sent the loons superfans cakes in the week? Confused

They may have felt cheated but they looked happy enough to me. They need to go home and do something else now.

Really Hmm

Why should he hang around with his new born daughter and wife who's just given birth to please a few nutters who have chosen to camp on the streets for days on end?

PiperIsTerrysChoclateOrange · 02/05/2015 18:56

I work in the hospital I work in, so I set an alarm for 6:30 and got showered and dressed.

I didn't feel comfortable being in PJ in front of work colleagues.

If I was goin to be photographed by the worlds media I would have wanted to be perfect looking as well.

Marchhairy · 02/05/2015 18:56

I did feel sorry for Kate when she left hospital with HG- she has her hair and make up on but she looked so ill- and wary. I bet she was thinking- pleas don't be sick, please don't be sick.

SaucyJack · 02/05/2015 18:56

George was the star of the show anyway- as per usual. Love that he now has the family combover.

If he carries on being that cute I may even consider him as a future SIL for my youngest DD.

Madamecastafiore · 02/05/2015 18:57

Speak for yourself.

I had hair and make up done and a lovely outfit on.

JohnCusacksWife · 02/05/2015 18:57

Who leaves hospital in their dressing gown and slippers? Managing to get dressed isn't really that hard, is it?!

When I had my DS's (both eight pounders) I left hospital properly dressed, no make up but then I don't normally wear make up and I would have loved to have the world cooing over them because they were utterly gorgeous and the best babies ever. Smile
