My ds is 2.5 and crazy about bing (annoying black rabbit on cbeebies) since there is no bing toys available yet I found a pattern online and made him a cuddly toy bing. This has received a lot of attention and have happily taken peoples email addresses and linked them to the pattern.
This morning we went to the park and a woman approached me asking about my ds's bing, I offered to email her the pattern but she said she wanted to buy the one that I had made. I explained that he wasn't for sale but she kept offering me more and more money (£50 Shock) in the end after trying to explain I snapped a bit, said that its my son's favourite toy and its not for sale and to please leave me alone now.
She huffed off and left with her dd, less than a minute later my ds started crying "bing gone" I assumed he had dropped him off the climbing frame but couldn't find him anywhere, I walked to the other end of the park and saw this woman getting in her car with bing in her hands! I tried to run after her but she drove off, got my phone out to try and take a picture of the number plate but it was to late.
Who on earth would do that? I'm going in between being angry and trying not to cry. Ds cried the whole way home and is now looking around trying to find him Sad
My dd is a year old and we have been in and out of hospital with her for her whole life. I made bing as a present for ds for being angel at all of dds appointments, he even helps to stop her crying during tests.
Lucky I have lots of fabric left over so I'm desperately cutting out fabric to make another one.
I'm just in shock, who on earth would take a toy off a 2year old!
I really don't think the police would be interested in a homemade toy being stolen, sorry for the pity post, I just needed to rant Sad

I cannot believe an adult would steal from a child in this way. I hope the police catch her, evil witch!

EugenesAxe · 30/04/2015 23:07

You see, apart from it being really horrible behaviour from an adult, I can't get how people can live with themselves for doing something like this. I'm glad 101 are following up; do let us know if you get a resolution. Your DS sounds lovely; all the best to your DD in hospital.

Debinaround · 30/04/2015 23:09

Hope the bitch gets cystitis.

Flowersfor you op.

ashtrayheart · 30/04/2015 23:10

How nasty can someone be Angry I would love for this woman to be names and shamed!

Pipbin · 30/04/2015 23:15

What kind of evil person could do that?
I would go to the paper. Proper Daily Mail sad face pictures.

Stratter5 · 30/04/2015 23:20

I cannot believe what I've just read. Utterly appalling Angry

So glad the police are taking it seriously, they should be, this woman has stolen, stolen from a child. I hope they do catch her, and I hope she spends a long night in a cold cell with raging cystitis - good call Deb.

98percentchocolate · 30/04/2015 23:23

What an awful, awful woman. I hope the police catch her and you get Bing back.
Somebody attempted to steal my DD's favourite toy once - she dropped him and ran towards some escalators in a shopping centre. DP grabbed her and went back for the toy only to see a woman pick it up. He ran after her to get it back and she tried to hide it and then said it was her DS'! Luckily DP gave her what for and snatched it back. The vile woman walked off red faced and empty handed, but what an awful thing to do to a child!
Your poor DS Sad

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 01/05/2015 02:02

I Just Do Not Understand people who steal from children, it is beyond me. Utterly appalling, base, lower-than-low behaviour. Angry

So sorry for all of you who have had this happen, and well done OP for reporting this nasty bitch to the police, I REALLY hope they catch her.

LilQueenie · 01/05/2015 02:13

Shocking and I really feel for your child. My wee girl loves Bing too and she also loves in the night garden. Ive been on a guilt trip for about 2 months after losing her "baby haa hoo" a certain one no longer available. 2 days ago the relief I got when she found it in a bag under a bed woah! I really hope this woman is caught and shamed.

I would go to the magazine/papers local to your area. Maybe even put posters up around the area it happened to warn other parents/mention to them a description of the person. She really is vile. I feel sorry for her kid too.

LilQueenie · 01/05/2015 02:16

Also mention it on the facebook magazine pages take a break, chat and so on. It will get shared far and wide.

Bearsinmotion · 01/05/2015 03:57

Shock. Just Shock

musicalendorphins2 · 01/05/2015 04:39

I am glad the police have been notified. Bing has his own facebook page I see. www.facebook.com/bingbunny I hope the surveillance video shows this despicable woman's car license plate clearly.

my2centsis · 01/05/2015 04:51

I really wish you would do a fb post. We would all share! This evil lady needs to be hell accountable

CouthyMow · 01/05/2015 04:56

What a fucking bitchy evil bastarding cuntheaded thing to do! I am at a loss for non obscene words to describe this person. I saw this linked to on a crochet Facebook page of all things, and my jaw just dropped. I hope her arse is infected with the fleas of a thousand camels and her arms drop off so e can't scratch it!

hestialou · 01/05/2015 06:39

I think this is pretty grim, am sure bing is amazing but why not get a brand new nice fluffy toy, rather than a stolen hand me down (sorry if assuming but most kids fave toys are pretty grim as they have them all the time and get noses wiped on and drooled on etc)

lougle · 01/05/2015 07:12

That's sad. I hope bing comes home.

MythicalKings · 01/05/2015 07:28

What can she do with it now, the stupid cow. She can't let anyone see it because they will ask her DD where she got it.

I do hope she gets hers.

If you eversee her in the park again -

Oh look, DS! There's that nasty lady who stole your toy!

jenna2356 · 01/05/2015 07:47

I would report to the police. You never know, it could result in getting Bing back and if by some chance they do pursue it and find her, you get to press charges and teach a lesson to a horrible person who thought that it was okay to steal from a child.

DeladionInch · 01/05/2015 08:01

you could always create a fb account under a pseudonym?

SirChenjin · 01/05/2015 08:04

Bloody hell - just can't believe someone would behave in that way Shock Sad

I echo what a lot of others have said - FB and local press. She's out there somewhere, and someone will know exactly who she is...

Justusemyname · 01/05/2015 08:07

I have a toy from when I was a baby and would be devastated to have him taken given I have nothing else. I hope you get him back, OP.

MrsNutella · 01/05/2015 08:22

Morning op. I was following your thread yesterday. I'm so disgusted by this woman's behaviour. Honestly, how can someone sink so low?!
I told DH about it and he was of course disgusted too.

My DS is a little bit younger but he has precious toys and is also very sweet to his baby DD. he was sharing his toast with her this morning and it made me think of this thread again. So I just wanted to post and say that I hope your DS is feeling better and I hope he loves the new bing. Flowers

(And I think you're amazing for being able to make him a bing and a replacement bing!)

EEVEElution · 01/05/2015 08:27

So sad to hear about bing and all the other toys that have been stolen from other posters. I have no conprehension of why people would stoop that low to take a beloved toy from a child :(

UnhingedMummyBlogger · 01/05/2015 09:30

Oh that is truly truly awful. I know how you must feel. My son has a comforter and would be inconsolable if he lost him. I really don't understand how a mother could do this :-(. Feel so so sad for your little boy.

blushingbooty · 01/05/2015 10:07

Name and shame on fb. If you are doing it on a group page someone else has sent up then you could always message them and ask them to put it up anon?
