My ds is 2.5 and crazy about bing (annoying black rabbit on cbeebies) since there is no bing toys available yet I found a pattern online and made him a cuddly toy bing. This has received a lot of attention and have happily taken peoples email addresses and linked them to the pattern.
This morning we went to the park and a woman approached me asking about my ds's bing, I offered to email her the pattern but she said she wanted to buy the one that I had made. I explained that he wasn't for sale but she kept offering me more and more money (£50 Shock) in the end after trying to explain I snapped a bit, said that its my son's favourite toy and its not for sale and to please leave me alone now.
She huffed off and left with her dd, less than a minute later my ds started crying "bing gone" I assumed he had dropped him off the climbing frame but couldn't find him anywhere, I walked to the other end of the park and saw this woman getting in her car with bing in her hands! I tried to run after her but she drove off, got my phone out to try and take a picture of the number plate but it was to late.
Who on earth would do that? I'm going in between being angry and trying not to cry. Ds cried the whole way home and is now looking around trying to find him Sad
My dd is a year old and we have been in and out of hospital with her for her whole life. I made bing as a present for ds for being angel at all of dds appointments, he even helps to stop her crying during tests.
Lucky I have lots of fabric left over so I'm desperately cutting out fabric to make another one.
I'm just in shock, who on earth would take a toy off a 2year old!
I really don't think the police would be interested in a homemade toy being stolen, sorry for the pity post, I just needed to rant Sad

What a piece of absolute scum this woman is! Stealing a toy from a child in the playground. If I didn't know better I'd assume this is false because it's so horrid.

I'm glad the police are taking it seriously, its so malicious! Hope you and DS are feeling a bit better about it.

Capricorn76 · 30/04/2015 21:34

Go to the local paper, Facebook and even the Daily Mail. Everyone will know how she suddenly acquired this toy. Disgraceful.

TheCatsMother99 · 30/04/2015 21:48

Selfish bitch. Hope karma gets her.

WineIsMyMainVice · 30/04/2015 21:50

You sound like a really lovely mum. I'm so sorry that this has happened to you and your family.
If you live in a small town, surely with a FB campaign and putting the word about - and with the Bing being so identifiable, you should find this horrible horrible woman very soon. Others need to be warned about just how vile she had been. Good luck.

Grapejuicerocks · 30/04/2015 21:55

Any news yet?

TapDancingMollusc · 30/04/2015 21:55

Am stunned. Shock

Hope your DS isn't too upset xx

CurbsideProphet · 30/04/2015 22:00

Shock The gall of that woman. Outrageous! So glad you reported it.

You sound a lovely mum, hope all is ok with your DD and that your DS isn't too upset. Flowers

StupidBloodyKindle · 30/04/2015 22:06

Truly sad - what makes it worse is, had she been arsed to Google cbeebies toys on eBay bing she would have found an array of bings from three quid to fifty knitted and stuffed ones.(Some are fantastic, others remind me of the Nailed It meme).

yummumto3girls · 30/04/2015 22:07

Agree, get it on Facebook, contact local paper, doing everything to shame her, totally shocking!

MrsTedCrilly · 30/04/2015 22:08

That is fucking disgraceful! Sad Some people are just cunts, no rhyme or reason. I hope your little boy is okay.. He'll be chuffed with his new one Smile

Mrsantithetic · 30/04/2015 22:11

my daughter is the same age and she loved Bing. I got a flop from eBay but the bings didn't look realistic enough for me to part with 40 quid. I wish I was creative.

I keep thinking of her little face of someone took her flop. evil evil woman. I hope you get sorted and your lovely boy is reunited with his Bing

TheFairyCaravan · 30/04/2015 22:11

I'm flabbergasted by this. Shock

She is a terrible mother, she's teaching her DD that she can have whatever she wants regardless of what is in the way.

My DH and DS2(18) are both disgusted too. Had anyone nicked one of my kids' special toys when they were little I'd have poked them in the eye with knitting needles.

What an absolute cunt of woman.

flanjabelle · 30/04/2015 22:27

Your poor little boy.

Op you sound like the loveliest mum, and I'm sorry your family are going through so much. Your ds sounds like a complete superstar and didn't deserve this at all. my heart hurts for him actually. Flowers for you.

AyeAmarok · 30/04/2015 22:28

Could you DS maybe "find" the new Bing in the garden with a little suitcase so he thinks he's come home?

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 30/04/2015 22:29

One disgusting cunt - but what a wonderful bunch of MNers! Whenever anyone complains about something on MN, I think of threads like this, and the true kindness they demonstrate.

Mummyinamask - wow - what a lovely offer!

Can I suggest you sleep with the 'new' bing in your bed so it smells of you before dc discovers it? That way it won't smell so new and unfamiliar.
Good luck OP.

hiddenhome · 30/04/2015 22:44

I am speechless Shock

I'd contact the bloody Daily Mail.

What a totally nasty bitch. I hope all her teeth fall out Angry

hopeful31yrs · 30/04/2015 22:47

Have read and re-read this thread. Absolutely disgusting. Makes my blood boil. My DH is disgusted as well.

Not entirely the same (not an adult) but when I was 10 a girl in my class took a model of Jess the cat (postman pat) from me - a pencil topper given to me by my father as part of a set. I'd had it from the age of 2 (I loved PP and had a cardboard village with all the characters) and had always had it in my pencil case. It was battered but had sentimental value and so when she took it I was devastated. I told the teacher who then confronted the girl who said it was hers. The teacher in her wisdom decided the only fair way to settle it was to put names in a hat and to draw them out - of course, her name came out and I lost Jess. This thread made me remember that feeling :( and the injustice of it. It's better as it was a child taking my stuff not an adult

catzpyjamas · 30/04/2015 22:52

What a twisted thing to doAngry. Your poor DS. I hope Bing has some good holiday pictures to show him when he gets back Wink

kali110 · 30/04/2015 22:55

I'd post on facebook. Name and shame the bitch.
I never usually advocate this, but she just cannot get away with this.
Hope the police get her car reg.
Thief if you are on here, you are a cunt.
That is all.

thetroubleis · 30/04/2015 22:58

I feel so sorry for your DS.

I hope that nasty cow gets the fright of her life when the 5-0 turn up at her house and all her neighbours see it!

So so so horrible and such a nasty awful mean thing to do. I can't believe it, I really can't.
