Why does scotsnet exist? Becauseof questions like these:
DS1 is now on study leave and has his first two N5's this week - Graph Comm on Thursday and History on Friday. He's finally settled down to some study although he got A's for both those prelims so the stress hasn't started in earnest yet. Anyone else?
Or
As above, DS1 starts S4 and 7 national 5s in a couple of weeks. Hasn't had much homework up til now.. we need to manage his expectations of how much he will be able to sit gaming compared to now
Which most of you would have scrolled right past at best, or at most anwered with a WTH are you on about type response. Unless a Scot with the answer happened to see either post at the right moment, they would soon slide off the first page of unanwered, or the first page of the education forums,
other questions on Scotsnet, so far, seem to relate to maternity hospitals, whose cachements certainly reach well past the cities they are 'local' in, so asking the same question in a local forum might not get a response until the OP has long since given birth.
There is a 'hidden Scotland' thread which is much like the 'hidden London' thread re: things to go and do which might not be obvious. Similiarly, there was a thread on Easter holiday activities, because again, a local forum is a small pool to seek information, especially about activities worth getting into Glasgow or Edinburgh for.
There are a couple of threads about the weather. Both essentially saying 'it's cold'.
