And not in the fridge? Dp thinks it should be kept in the fridge but I disagree- I have told him the verdict relies upon the great women of mums net!

Think I'm going to have to buy a packet of chocolate digestives to put in the freezer tomorrow now. I'm intrigued!

Quills · 24/04/2015 21:35

Absolutely in the cupboard, preferably out of reach of DCs and out of sight of DP.

scarletforya · 24/04/2015 21:35

Fridge by far. Warm/room temperature chocolate is not as nice.

Siennasun · 24/04/2015 21:39

Count yourself lucky - DH keeps chocolate in the freezer weirdo

I actually cut my arm. On a bar of frozen Galaxy the other day Angry

WhirlpoolGalaxyM51 · 24/04/2015 21:39

Ours goes on top of the cupboard where the DC can't reach it Grin

Must admit it never crossed my mind to put it in the fridge. I don't think i'd like it so much cold.

iLoveFlop · 24/04/2015 21:42

Fridge! Warm chocolate is horrid.

Bit OT but I've just seen that sn00p4d posted on here earlier. I hope you and your DD are well x

DramaAlpaca · 24/04/2015 21:45

Has to be in the fridge, otherwise you don't get that lovely 'snap' when you break a bit off the bar.

weddingbelle1005 · 24/04/2015 21:46

Easter egg chocolate only in the fridge! The crack n crunch of the shell breaking as you eat is sooooooo satisfying! All other chocolate in the (high up) treat cupboard!

TheBookofRuth · 24/04/2015 21:57

Depends on the chocolate. Good quality chocolate needs to be kept in the cupboard. Cheap chocolate tastes better from the fridge.

madhairday · 24/04/2015 22:02

Fridge fridge fridge fridge fridge FREEZER

Cupboard is yuk. Too melty.

A flake from the freezer is Lush.

AdoraBell · 24/04/2015 22:06

Cupboard unless you live where I do. Assuming you in the UK there is no need to keep it too hard to bite chilled

YADNBU

I would let him keep his in the fridge, but mine would be in the cupboard. Because anything left in the fridge here gets eaten by the DDs.

BoyScout · 24/04/2015 22:06

Fridge for definite.

Warm chocolate

BigChocFrenzy · 24/04/2015 22:10

I love leaving milk chocolate (in its wrapper) on the radiator. Then when it's all squidgy, I slurp the choc out of the paper < Big Choc Perve hedonist >

trixymalixy · 24/04/2015 22:13

Cupboard, putting chocolate in the fridge makes the texture all wrong and you can't taste it properly.

Mehitabel6 · 24/04/2015 22:14

The fridge. I don't like it if it has been in a cupboard.

chlo95 · 24/04/2015 23:15

I work in a chocolate shop and head office rules say chocolate can't be stored lower than 10 degrees Celsius, perfect temperature is 16. In the fridge it attracts the smells and tastes of other things making it nasty.

toffeeboffin · 25/04/2015 01:29

Fridge.

If I buy chocolate for DH and don't want to end up eating it myself, I put it in the cupboard. Craggy room temperature chocolate, yuck!

Spermysextowel · 25/04/2015 01:38

Fridge, but brought to room temperature before eating. That's why my thermostat is set at 20.5

SarahManning · 25/04/2015 01:57

Slightly baffled by the concept of keeping chocolate longer than it takes to shovel into my mouth. However, I agree that it should be in the cupboard. If it's hot then surely you would be eating some kind of chocolate smothered ice cream? No?

MrsTedCrilly · 25/04/2015 02:36

Cupboard!
OH says fridge though.. God knows what we see in each other. Grin

TheRealAmandaClarke · 25/04/2015 05:21

The separation of fats occurs at a warm temp though.
Chilling might mske the bloom apparent, but it doesnt cause it.
Sometimes a damp environment would cause crystalisation of the sugars, but that shouldnt happen for short periods in a well maintained fridge.
But i guess its all down to individual preference.
I dont like my chocolate rock hard, it hurts my teeth and i cant taste it. But if its left outside the fridge in this warm weather i find it too bendy and cloying. So fridge to store, and then leave it out for a bit first before scoffing.

Mousefinkle · 25/04/2015 06:57

Most definitely cupboard! It tastes so disgusting after being in the fridge.

Mehitabel6 · 25/04/2015 07:14

It would be very slimming if it was kept in a cupboard because I will only eat it from the fridge- I don't like it otherwise.
