It just keeps getting worse and worse what comes out of her mouth.

I don't disagree with what she is saying just think she uses horrible language.

daffs Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but not to their own facts. In my opinion, the Earth is flat and the moon is made of cheese. And I don't care if you think I'm wrong because my opinion is just as valid as yours.

The people don't have passports - Libya won't take them back.

There has been at least one drifting boat that drifted back to North Africa that was pushed back in to the water. The people were dying because they had no drinking water.

Many of the people getting in these boats have fled one conflict and arrived in Libya to find another. One that the UK/Europe helped create.

The ultimate solution would be that wars / ISIS / Boko Haram etc did not exist and people would feel safe in their own country.

In Europe, all of Europe, you can send your daughter to school with the expectation you will see her again.

If you have to sleep on the streets you may be hungry and cold but you will probably not be murdered.

If your child wakes up next to you on that cold street screaming it is a nightmare not a bomb/shell explosion that has woken them.

Excellent post from Annie.

In a way, I'm glad about this latest intervention from Hopkins. Up until now, there's been this pretence among the anti-immigration mob that they're only concerned about how full our country is, the pressure on services and jobs and so on, they're not against immigrants per se.

Hopkins isn't interested in pretending that she's not a racist: her rhetoric is the rhetoric of the 1930s fascist parties. She hates immigrants and thinks they should all be killed. There, it's out in the open - now we all know what we're dealing with.

I think the point is that she was never the fantastic businesswoman she made herself out to be - The Apprentice never has been any indicator of competence in that field. The very fact that she went on programmes like "I'm a Celebrity" and "Big Brother" shows how desperate she is. That's why she's resorted to the so-called "outspoken" persona, because no-one in the media would have any interest in employing her otherwise.

The problem is that when she started down this route she was too dim to realise that it would ultimately be self-defeating: if she wants to keep her job and stay in the spotlight, she has to carry on saying controversial things, that then becomes predictable so she has to find something more controversial to say, and it inevitably she moves into a vicious circle where she either gives up or carries on getting more extreme till she gets sacked and prosecuted. And she's still too dim to realise that the more sensible course would have been just to put a stop to the whole things ages ago, that way she might have had some vestiges of a career left.

I really, really feel so sorry for her children. No matter what precautions everyone takes, they are inevitably going to get bullied about their vile mother, and they must wonder why she doesn't seem to care about that.

It's an horrible way of considering other human beings, and borderline nazi-like I agree.

But as a person that lived on the south of Europe on the path of massive boat illegal immigrants, having a massive arrival in a city of desperate people that lived with other rules & standards all their lives is a catastrophe, even if it's just as a passage to another country. Most simply cannot adjust to our 'soft' policing, and make everyday living very dangerous, especially for women. Do not think I lack empathy, but this unchecked massive welcome we do at the moment is driving to great danger for local people. I cannot stress enough the insecurity.
