To be really excited that a woman is having a baby. Again. I mean, no one else has ever had a baby, have they?

And it's going to be on the TELLY! And in the papers. And all over Twitter. We've got three weeks of this.

limited at least she hasn't strangled anyone yet.

limitedperiodonly · 02/05/2015 13:18

I'm with Kay there. If you watch longer clips you'll see the woman whacking her in the face with a bloody big camera first. If that happened to me I'd hug her warmly by the throat too.

Do not waste your sympathy on press photographers. They don't need it and they don't give a shit.

Sparklingbrook · 02/05/2015 13:24

No, KB has done loads of stuff, the strangling and the awful April jones incident. I have no sympathy for KB or press photographers TBH.

Sorry for derail. Hopefully KB will go off shift at some point.

dougierose · 02/05/2015 14:15

Did you see Kay Burley behind the scenes at the Sky TV Election Debate? She was vile and dismissive to the politicians (trying to outpax Pax) but slobbering all over the fellow journos. I totally lost the last semblance of any respect I had for her.

Can't wait to see Kate's matching pink dress.

She wasn't as annoying as the awful woman in a light blue coat who was with her adding 'colour'. KB practically told her to bugger off

Sparklingbrook · 02/05/2015 14:23

Missed that luckily dougie. She really is very rude, why they have despatched her to cover the Royal birth I don't know. Confused. They must have some nice presenters somewhere.

limitedperiodonly · 02/05/2015 17:27

I have Sky News on.

She keeps talking about how the photographers want the 'money shot' - her term for a photo of William, Kate, George and the new baby standing on the hospital steps.

I now can't rid myself of the horrible image of the massed ranks of snappers spraying them with cum. I want to poke out my mind's eye.

Kay's been so excited today I actually think she might have a meaningful experience when they emerge Wink

Stopandlook · 02/05/2015 17:32

Lovely news for them, I'm on a press blackout for the next week.... Tell me when it's safe to surface!

Sparklingbrook · 02/05/2015 17:41

KB is still there. Wittering away about nothing. she gets very excitable but never has a genuine smile. she needs to go home now.

limitedperiodonly · 02/05/2015 17:58

I realise I'm coming over as a Kay apologist here, but wittering about nothing is the art of a live broadcaster. I'm so impressed.

I suspect that to amuse themselves, the cameramen focus on random things to see if the commentator can keep up.

The one I remember best is at a royal event when they filmed a pigeon in Green Park. It was a Dimbleby commentating, can't remember which one, but it was masterful the way he gravely said something like: 'Ah. The great symbols of London. Red buses, policeman's helmets, smog and the pigeon. One wonders if that humble bird, pecking for crumbs just yards from the Palace, knows how close he is to such a momentous occasion. As history is in the making, what thoughts must be passing through his head...'

He kept it up for ages. It would have only been better if he'd have said: 'Coo.'

I'm sure there was a bet going on.

limitedperiodonly · 02/05/2015 18:00

I don't think Burley is Dimbleby standard btw but I enjoy her for her inappropriate comments and I do not want her banned.

limitedperiodonly · 02/05/2015 19:05

don't hold out too much hope for Sky News

So don't watch it. It's not compulsory.

I've just had a quick look and Pointless Celebrities or snooker is available for your viewing pleasure. There's nothing else royal birth-based to irritate you.

I am cooking the dinner, MNing and have Al Green on.

Sparklingbrook · 02/05/2015 19:06

BGT's on soon. Smile

MiddleAgeMiddleEngland · 02/05/2015 21:00

Bedside radio alarm changed from its customary Radio 4 to Radio 3 here. Will be like that until at least next weekend.

Saddened that "Woman in London goes into labour" was before the Nepal update on the Today programme this morning.

This week I'll be even more glad than normal that we don't own a tv.
