AIBU to not want my ds to have bubble baths

I have tried all the nicer no so chemically bubble bath and it just doesn't really bubble and it's quite expensive. So I just don't do bubble bath. I refuse to sit my ds in a bath full of chemicals. It's not like he asks for it.
But my dh pours shampoo Angry into the bath to froth it up. Argghhh. Ds has slightly dry skin and it makes it worse.
But AIBU?

Yabu. Bubble baths/coloured tints/bath toys/crayons etc are fun. Use a kind to the skin one like sanex or the like.

Spadequeen · 20/04/2015 21:32

I use infacare, (i also have dry skin and dont get on well with harsh chemically stuff) ifor me not the children, they don't like bubble baths (weirdos!)

CumberCookie · 20/04/2015 21:32

Get one of Lush's bubble bars. They are lovely for sensitive skin and really froth up. They can be expensive but a big bar will last a long time if used in small pieces.

MoanCraft · 20/04/2015 21:32

Oh no, I knew I'd feel mean

Another vote for the ASDA one!

LocalEditorEssex · 20/04/2015 21:32

My daughter is reactive to most bubble baths but is ok with sanex and johnsons baby bath. They bubble up well imo.
So I guess yabu.
Sorry.

PtolemysNeedle · 20/04/2015 21:33

Bubble bath can be fun, as long as your ds isn't really young, I don't think a weekly treat of some cheaper bubble bath that actually creates bubbles is going to do any harm.

Janethegirl · 20/04/2015 21:33

Your child, your choice but I think YABabitU.

MoanCraft · 20/04/2015 21:33

Cumber i don't mind paying if the product works, I've not tried any nicer ones that do enough to warrant the cost. So I'll take a look at the lush bar.

But you must use 'chemicals' on him in other ways??

At least in the bath the chemicals are diluted with water

Achooblessyou · 20/04/2015 21:35

Yanbu. My ds has excema which is worse with bubble bath

How old is your DS? I didn't start with bubbles until my DD was about 18 months for the same reasons. I now use the Waitrose baby bubble bath which hasn't got nasties in it and froths pretty well, as it is a bit expensive she just has it every other bath. Bubbles aren't essential, but kids do love them!

CumberCookie · 20/04/2015 21:36

Moan - yeah I really think they are worth a look. Some of them are moisturising as well, better asking the shop workers for advice (I don't work for them honest - I just really like their stuff!)

MoanCraft · 20/04/2015 21:36

Yep I do 26 but only where necessary. Sun tan cream, shampoo, soap etc. but I'm able to get them without all the nasty preservatives and parabens, it's hard to get a bubble bath without those.

The e45 junior one is good on DS's skin and bubbles nicely.

YourBubzYourRulzHun · 20/04/2015 21:37

Child's Farm stuff in Boots is lovely. Smells so good and bubbles up well too. I buy the bubble bath, the shampoo and the conditioner and the detangler spray. It's often 1/3 off.

Bimblepops · 20/04/2015 21:38

Two DS's with mild excema - we use the Sanex kids bubble bath and it has no side effects, other than making them even more hyper and over-excited than usual!

Give the kid a bubble bath!!!

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 20/04/2015 21:38

Another vote for the Lush bubble bars (especially the blues skies and fluffy white clouds one). You hardly need any to get masses of bubbles.

MoanCraft · 20/04/2015 21:39

Nora, my ds is older, 6. But I may try the waitrose one again. I tried using the others that they stocked but didn't know they now do their own. Mind you is it specifically for baby? Or is it aims at older kids too? Then again, if the product works and bubbles enough it doesn't matter I suppose.

I second Lush. You need just a few crumbly bits for fab, soft bubbles. And def not chemical filled.

TheoriginalLEM · 20/04/2015 21:39

if i have abath with no bubbles then my hair goes like straw.
