Note to Jeremy Clarkson

Note to Jeremy Clarkson - I have just checked with my husband who was diagnosed with cancer age 27 and told he had a 50/50 chance of living if he had ever punched someone in the face because of this. The answer was no.

I asked him again if following the operation and subsequent treatment which left him unable to walk long distances or up and down stairs, surf, run or do most of the physical things that he loved so much had ever made him want to punch someone in the face. He said no.

I then asked him if the subsequent stays in hospital due to infection and ongoing treatment now, 8 years later plus the disfigurement of his leg from where a tumour the size if a rugby ball was removed have ever made him even think about punching someone in the face. Again the answer was no.

I finally asked him if having to go through and pay for fertility treatment for a longed for child because of his cancer has made him ever want to punch someone in the face. I'm sure you can guess the answer.

So Jeremy, please think twice before using cancer as an excuse for your boorish, loutish behaviour.

There are people all over the world suffering from a cancer diagnosis who have never even considered punching someone in the face over a cold meat platter. Man up.

I think we should all be nicer to the Rupert Murdoch employee, and respect his private life in the same way as journalists respect ours.

DrankSangriaInThePark · 19/04/2015 13:27

He's not just going to go quietly and fade away is he?
He really is starting to make himself look a fool.
Does he have no dignity at all?
What a pathetic little man he really is. So very typical of the playground bully who then plays the victim.
Funny that.

DrankSangriaInThePark · 19/04/2015 13:35

The reason why this utter thug gets such reactions is because he has always courted publicity with his self-aggrandizement and massive ego. He really thought he'd get away with it.
I thought he'd get away with it.
Divorce? Diddums. Maybe he should have contemplated the stress and the ££££s before he started fucking someonevwho wasn't his wife.
I feel sorry for his kids too. They're probably quite embarrassed about him.

Sallyingforth · 19/04/2015 13:50

If someone starts a thread on here to say that their husband has being screwing someone else for years, with their pictures in the papers, the universal response would be "LTB! Kick the rotten bastard out on the street and hope he starves"

JC has at least one other property to live with his girlfriend/s, lots of money and the opportunity to earn plenty more.

His jilted wife has preserved her dignity and doesn't pose for the press, neither does she publicise any health issues she may have.

And yet some people are saying "Don't kick him when he's down." WTF?

BishopBrennansArse · 19/04/2015 13:58

It's getting really boring now.

I acknowledge he did wrong and for that his contract wasn't renewed. As is right. He's also a bit of a twat in general.
I just don't get the incessant going on and on and on. And on. And on, and on and on.

He's written an article. Woop. He's a journalist, it's what he does. An editor chose to publish it. Didn't have to, but I suspect said editor wouldn't have been happy if the article didn't reference recent events to aid sales.

I mean, does nobody ever move on? Actually no they don't do they, there's still a lot of Jonathan Ross/Russell Brand raking over even now.

EepMeep · 19/04/2015 14:04

I'm with you, BarbarianMum

itsnotmeitsyou1 · 19/04/2015 14:07

I really don't get anyone who can possibly defend him. He lost his wife because he cheated on her. He lost his job because he assaulted someone over his dinner. He has been homophobic, bigoted and racist all in the name of entertainment. Top Gear is like something out of the 1970s, three middle class, middle aged, white men making non pc comments and talking about their motors. No other programme would get away with it, if it was a premise for a new show, it wouldn't even take off. Don't even get me started on how different the reaction would have been if he had punched a woman over his dinner, instead of a man. Bloody double standards. Anyway, he got what he deserved, he has NO excuse what so ever. The rest of us can go through awful times, without punching anyone.

DrankSangriaInThePark · 19/04/2015 14:21

I think that's an interesting comparison BishopBrennan, Brand and Clarkson.....very similar narcissistic personalities who refused to accept they had done wrong, and very definitely thought they were indispensable to the beeb.

I agree with you too, itsnotme, my 70 yr old racist, homophobic, grand prix watching stepfather loved Top Gear. Why wouldn't he? All it was ever missing was Clarkson putting on a pair of Benny Hill specs and chasing some bikini clad women around the track.

Many many many other celebrities have been caught with their pants down, or being violent, or with half a gram of the white stuff on their shirtsleeve. They've been kicked out. Quite rightly so.Some have gone off quietly for a couple of years and rehabilitated themselves...some have disappeared without trace. Whatever. If I hit somebody at work, I'd be out. We ALL would. That, at the end of the day, is the point. But Jezza thought he wouldn't be. The Beeb finally saw sense and we were subject to weeks of "I shall take TG elsewhere then". The Beeb said "off you pop then". So now we are going for the tragic story element. As I said, pathetic. And just confirms that the man truly has not an ounce of moral fibre inside his nasty ironed jeans and his zip up suedette blouson.

What I also find bizarre are the women (I am presuming mainly) on here defending this in the name that "my sons have always loved TC". Is that man really the sort of example you want to be setting your male children? Really?

I used to enjoy Jim'll Fix It....

Inkanta · 19/04/2015 14:30

'narcissistic personalities who refused to accept they had done wrong, and very definitely thought they were indispensable to the beeb.'

Yes, they are never wrong, never take responsibility and never say sorry.

GatoradeMeBitch · 19/04/2015 14:34

Charis - he lost his wife because of his repeated shagging about didn't he?

Capricorn76 · 19/04/2015 14:35

What type of doctor, especially the type of doctor that he could pay for, tells you you've 'probably got cancer'? I'll tell you, none. A doctor will conduct tests and if you have cancer they will tell you, no doctor will say 'you've probably got cancer' they send for tests and deal in facts as cancer is not some minor ailment. This is why i call BS on Clarksons attempt to PR his way back via X Factor style sob story. And to the person who said we should feel sorry for him because he lost his wife and home well maybe she'd still be with him if he hadn't been blatantly cheating on her!!! Also I'm sure he has another home or could afford one. Feel sorry for his producer.

fattymcfatfat · 19/04/2015 14:39

I was told by my gp, a consultant and a surgeon that things looked "nasty"
luckily it just looked that way and I was ok. and no one has defended his actions. we are just sick of hearing about it

Bakeoffcake · 19/04/2015 14:41

I know someone who has worked with him on Top Gear, the whole crew walk on egg shells, every single day.

Charis1 · 19/04/2015 14:45

something out of the 1970s, three middle class, middle aged, white men

What a racist, sexist and agist comment, Are middle class middle aged white men not allowed out of the 70s?

For someone supposedly against racism and prejudice, you have just demonstrated rather a lot of both.

NickiFury · 19/04/2015 14:47

Ds and I are going to their show at the O2 in November.

Can't wait Smile.

DrankSangriaInThePark · 19/04/2015 14:51

Seriously rofling at someone sticking up (wtf?) for Clarkson calling someone else out on being racist and sexist.... ( I suppose trading in (see what I did there?) the former Mrs C for a newer model might also be seen as ageist...) so we can add that too....

Except unlike JC itsnotme wasn't being any of those things.

RichPetunia · 19/04/2015 14:54

My stepson was diagnosed with cancer and died two years later at the age of 20. A lovelier boy you couldn't hope to meet, and not once during all his treatment then final diagnosis did he feel the need to take it out on anyone. Jeremy Clarkson is an idiot, and he needs to be ashamed of himself.

Charis1 · 19/04/2015 14:58

*Seriously rofling at someone sticking up (wtf?) for Clarkson calling someone else out on being racist and sexist.... ( I suppose trading in (see what I did there?) the former Mrs C for a newer model might also be seen as ageist...) so we can add that too....

Sorry, please explain in what way itsnotme's comment was not racist and prejudiced, and what bearing anyone being a fan of Jeremy Clarkson has on how racist and prejudiced that comment was?

itsnotmeitsyou1 · 19/04/2015 15:01

Chairs, you know exactly what I mean. I'm sorry if you read what I said as hypocritical, there has been much outcry in recent years about diversity. Top Gear is everything diversity isn't. I'm not against white, middle class men on television, but I am against a stereotype that should have died out years ago. Will anyone seriously argue that this show, and JC have never acted in a deliberate 'non-pc' manner? Of course I'm going to get annoyed that the privlaged seem to get away with taking the piss of those considered 'beneath them'. A

itsnotmeitsyou1 · 19/04/2015 15:02

Charis, my apologies on the auto correct

DrankSangriaInThePark · 19/04/2015 15:03

Well, if it needs to be spelled out.

Jeremy, James and Richard are men, right? White ones? Probably fairly middle class ones?

Saying that someone white, is erm white isn't racist.
Saying that a man is, erm, a man isn't sexist.
Saying that someone is middle-class, isn't classist.

We get you really really love him ever such a lot Charis. We don't get why, and we hope you can get some help for it, truly but you're starting to sound a bit daft now.

DrankSangriaInThePark · 19/04/2015 15:05

Flowers for RichPetunia and anyone else whose loved ones undoubtedly have more dignity and compassion in their little toenail than this man has.

DameCatrionaSnidelyGoads · 19/04/2015 15:05

Ah.

Clarkson.

Poor ickle diddums. Flowers

RUNS AWAY

justonemoretime2p · 19/04/2015 15:10

YABVVU for posting this here.

fattymcfatfat · 19/04/2015 15:13

I must be missing something Confused

I can't see anyone defending clarksons actions, just saying we should lay off as he has been punished no need to keep sticking the boot in
