My friend, is nice but shes lazy, and her place is fithly. I saw her today at lunch time, food from Tuesdays main meal still left out, she appears to have no fruit, and the main offender is there is bloodly ash (from her cigarettes) laying about.

Her floor is always dirty, littered with empty fruit shoot bottles and bits of food.

I know she is having a new bathroom fitted right now, and I'm not a perfect keeping upto date with my cleaning, but each room gets cleaned once a week.

AIBU?
Can I say I don't like coming around to hers cause it's always dirty?

I'm assuming that she made a point of telling you that the leftover food was from Tuesday's dinner. I'm assuming she had cleared up Wednesday's? Or did she not eat on Wednesday?

When you say the places was littered with fruit shoot bottles, are we talking 1 or 2, or did you have to wade through them?

No fruit - I couldn't possibly maintain a friendship with someone who didn't have fruit in the house every time I visited!! How long have you known this woman? Have you not noticed these problems before? I'm sure the fact that she can't drive for medical reasons has no bearing on her difficulty to maintain a satisfactory fresh fruit bowl at all times Hmm

ladygracie · 16/04/2015 21:01

No fruit no friendship is my new mantra.
Seriously - if her house is too dirty then you will have to meet somewhere else I guess. Can't see how you telling her that her house is too dirty for you to visit could ever end well.

cleanmyhouse · 16/04/2015 21:04

That medical condition. Is it scurvy?

SoleSource · 16/04/2015 21:05

Pmsl cleanmyhouse

mrsfuzzy · 16/04/2015 21:09

you don't sound much of a friend to me, i feel sorry for her in the respect that you find it okay to come on here and bitch behind her back.

butterflyballs · 16/04/2015 21:36

Fuck me! Not even a wrinkled Apple or a wizened orange?

Never mind dropping her, report her to social services immediately.

mrsfuzzy · 16/04/2015 21:44

what happened to evilwater ?

hobNong · 16/04/2015 21:55

Don't continue with this friendship OP.

It's fruitless.

NoelHeadbands hahaha! Grin

Evilwater · 16/04/2015 22:11

I was watching the debate.

I know I should be kind, and help her, but at what point is enough?
I was just pissed she didn't make an effort.

As for the fruit, OMG did I sound like a crazy lady.

CuttedUpPear · 16/04/2015 22:13

OP you were pissed?
Well you are in no position to judge if you are drunk in the middle of the day Shock

MistressDeeCee · 16/04/2015 22:14

Not nice when a friend's house is filthy but Id think she was depressed. Id offer to help, directly or indirectly. I wouldn't judge, because she probably isn't happy at all living like that and something is interfering with her motivation to change it.

Evilwater · 16/04/2015 22:14

Pissed= upset

OP posts:
Morelikeguidelines · 16/04/2015 22:16

We sometimes have no fruit as all fruit disappears within about 5 mins of purchase. Can't see what that has to do with whether house is filthy (or fifthly?) unless apple cores are strewn across floor due to the fruit thieving pixies...

MistressDeeCee · 16/04/2015 22:18

Suddenly realised I've bought no fruit at all since weekend. This is a fruitless fruit-free house. Im doomed...

ElleBellyBeeblebrox · 16/04/2015 22:21

"Yes, I said lets meet at hers for lunch"
Why would you be pissed off she hadn't made an effort when you basically just invited yourself round for lunch?

HydrochloricTulip · 16/04/2015 22:22

Op are you taking the pith ?

Galrick · 16/04/2015 22:27

...not even a Sharon fruit OP?

I miss Sharon :(

splodgeses · 16/04/2015 22:29

Singsongsung · 16/04/2015 22:31

Her house may be dirty but I bet she can spell filthy...

CuttedUpPear · 16/04/2015 22:33

Pissed = drunk
Pissed off = upset

Unless you are about to tell us that you are American?

AliceDoesntLiveHereAnymore · 16/04/2015 22:37

Hey - even us Americans know that pissed = drunk and pissed off = upset, thank you very much. We put fruit in our fruit bowls as well. Grin Unless of course, it's in the fridge, the cupboards, or the freezer instead.

Then again, I'm living in the UK, so maybe I've just acclimatised.

exWifebeginsat40 · 16/04/2015 22:40

NO FRUIT! TUBULAR CHEESE!!!

I have no fruit but my flat is spotless. where do I sit?

parsnipbob · 16/04/2015 22:43

I say pissed to indicate annoyance/upset as well as pissed off. So do a lot of people I know. Didn't know it was unusual!

piggychops · 16/04/2015 22:50

Don't judge her OP, you're not walking her path.

foreverton · 16/04/2015 22:54

Oh dear God, Sat here looking round my spotless house ( mixture of ocd and the "royal bloody visit tomorrow from mil") and all I can think of is I've got no fruit:(

Got 3 Apple and blackcurrant fruit shoots in the fridge though and enough chocolate to sink a ship. Amongst many other delights, just no fruit.

Actually!!! Ha,just checked, whilst getting my maltesers and I've got grapes:) I'm saved.

Though filthy to one person means something completely different to another.
My best friends house qualifies for some Kim and aggie treatment but I still love her ( she just comes here instead ) her choice.
