He hates peeling potatoes so he'd rather peel a few big ones rather than lots of smaller ones but this means we have no big ones left for baking! These is LTB material right? :)

I would find the smallest one, bake it and give it to him for dinner Grin

HappyHippyChick · 15/04/2015 18:24

^^ That. Do that, please! Grin

NonDom · 15/04/2015 18:25

My DH thinks that the only way to have potatoes is mash. It's something I just have to put up with.

Schmoozer · 15/04/2015 18:27

I only peel the BIG ones, nigella recommends it :)

bumbleymummy · 15/04/2015 18:27

I like the tiny potato idea! :) I have some little baby ones there...hehehe

NonDom - you're a more tolerant woman than I am!

and make sure it's overcooked so it's like a cannon ball on the outside. Grin

bumbleymummy · 15/04/2015 18:29

Me too Jigsaw. I practically survived on them during my pregnancies.

Yes, what whereto said!Grin

Welshmaenad · 15/04/2015 18:32

Baking potatoes are 39p for 4 this week in Aldi, send him out for more!

MaidOfStars · 15/04/2015 18:34

I prefer small potatoes for baking. Higher yummy olive oil and sea salted skin to boring interior ratio.

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 15/04/2015 18:37

I have tiny left over potatoes that you can give him.

I admit to this if I'm feeling lazy. But I never use ones I bought just for baking.

bumbleymummy · 15/04/2015 18:39

That's brilliant Welsh! Unfortunately we don't have an Aldi anywhere near us.

Ooh they sound good Maid....hmmmmm maybe this will turn out to be a good thing! (Ssssshhhh - don't tell DH!) I do like my fluffy buttery potato interior though...

sparklepopsicles · 15/04/2015 18:40

My DH is the same, lazy buggers the lot of them. Though I do hate peeling potatoes myself and get him to do whenever possible so can't complain.

JigsawsAreAllLittlePieces · 15/04/2015 18:40

I'm going to make potato wedges now to go with our pizza instead of salad :)

Welshmaenad · 15/04/2015 18:41

That's a shame. We're looking to move area and I am discounting places in the basis that they don't have a convenient Aldi Grin

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 15/04/2015 18:42

Right, I'm off to bake that potato sitting in the fridge. What shall I have with it?

Cheese
Cheese and Tuna
Spaghetti and Cheese.

That sounds reasonable Welsh! :)

Oooh - wedges Jogsaw - how do you make them?

Cheese and Beans Tali - with coleslaw on the side!

GoodbyeToAllOfThat · 15/04/2015 18:49

I don't understand peeling potatoes in any case. Surely you just mash with the skin on?

MaidOfStars · 15/04/2015 18:50

Also, I missed the main point!!!

Why do you peel potatoes for mash? Shock

MaidOfStars · 15/04/2015 18:51

And big x post there, sorry!

Read to end of thread, Maid...

bumbleymummy · 15/04/2015 18:52

Tempting Raffles but then I would always have to peel the potatoes myself...

OP posts:
TaliZorahVasNormandy · 15/04/2015 18:52

I dont like beans or coleslaw Bumble

bumbleymummy · 15/04/2015 18:53

OP posts:
bumbleymummy · 15/04/2015 18:53
