I have a garden to the side of house and people seem to think it is fine to allow their dogs to do their business in it, i asked one dog owner to not allow his dog on garden his response -but I'll clean it up, fine but why cant they clean it up off their own gardens or even clean up off pavement....why allow dog to go in someone elses garden in first place?

Sister I work in the centre of a large city and around 4 days a week we have to clean the fire exit doorway of human crap. It is revolting.

Nicker I was led to believe that white dog poo was down to the food dogs ate. Our dog never had commercial dog food it was bones/cheap off cuts from the butchers. Don't know if there is any truth in it though.

SirChenjin · 15/04/2015 14:17

I know that there is all manner of bacteria in the garden - my post made that clear.

As for far fewer dogs around - so not true

And I'm sorry that you work in such a grim job Regina

Reginafalangie · 15/04/2015 14:19

I never said there were fewer dogs around Confused
I said there was less dog shit.

My job is wonderful it is the scum that shit on the doorstep that's grm Sad

SirChenjin · 15/04/2015 14:19

Ignore links in last post - you were talking about about dog shit. Though not round this way

Reginafalangie · 15/04/2015 14:21

I'm sorry you live in such a grim area sir Sad

tomatodizzymum · 15/04/2015 14:23

Don't like trivializing one problem, because there are bigger ones. That will result in no changes because there will always bigger problems, especially if you get into the trumping problems and competative disaster mentality.

Reginafalangie · 15/04/2015 14:25

Nobody was trivializing it. I think everyone agrees that dog shit is horrible and should be cleaned up. It was the drama queen reply that prompted mine.

SirChenjin · 15/04/2015 14:26

I don't. I live in a lovely semi-rural area with lots of dog walkers reflecting more dog owners. I used to live in a less rural location with far fewer dog owners.

Picking up people's shit must be awful. No wonder you don't mind dog shite as much.

Reginafalangie · 15/04/2015 14:29

Oh I hate dog shit!

I hate the smell, they way it sticks to your shoes it makes me want to vomit. However I accept that there will, unless we kill all domestic dogs, always be dog shit so I just choose not to get my knickers in a twist about it. Not good for blood pressure and all that.

Just to clarify I don't personally clean up the human shit. It is deemed too toxic/dangerous so we have to employ a specialist cleaning crew to come out and do it. Pretty bad considering I work for a charity and that the charity has to pay for the clean up crew.

If you don't think it's a big issue to clean up excrement that doesn't belong to you regina then I'm not sure what you're issue is with doing it at work. Especially since you're on someone else's time.

Where did I say this? Please copy and paste where I said it wasn't a big issue?

Of course there are plenty of other issues that are more important - but very few people like dog shit, and it's important to the OP. There are many things on MN that you might not find important, but so what.

Teapot74 · 15/04/2015 14:36

Nickers/ Regina white dog poo is to do with what dogs eat. Mine are raw fed and have much smaller dry poos that just crumble away into the grass (our grass) Can't stand it when I see other types of dog poo bleuurgh!

Reginafalangie · 15/04/2015 14:36

Yeah and child protection has improved since Jimmy Saville's day so let's just chill about a bit about those still being abused.

Hmm
Reginafalangie · 15/04/2015 14:38

I don't let my dog shit in public places. He poops when he needs to. I clean it up. He has a dry food based diet which means his poo is solid and non smeary and as I pointed out earlier if he has a bad tum he stays in the garden where I can wash it away.

There is more cat shit in my garden from other peoples cats yet I manage to deal with it without getting in to a frenzy. I hate the way all dog owners are damned.
